    Roadster/Gravelster Aftermarket Improved LCD Display!!

If I recall correctly, from the above screenshots in an earlier post, it’s the Max Speed Road and Max Speed Off Road. In my “final” setup though , I changed the Mode Labels to “Eco/Sport” modes instead of “Road/OffRoad” labels and set the max assist speed for those modes to 25 kph and 45 kph...

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

This. Lots of riding with my single speed e-bike improved my fitness enough that I can ride and really enjoy a traditional single speed. I just have more options and capabilities now, depending on what I feel like doing. Now I just need a bigger garage for all the bikes ;)

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

Great to know that about titanium, thanks! The flexing under stress would be a deal-breaker for me, for those times where I’d be high speed cornering on uneven surfaces. The track bike geometry is already agressive, so wouldn’t want it to be any less stable. Once again, that’ll allow me to focus...

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

As always, the number of bikes you need (want) is N+1, but I’ve found you can always do more with the bikes you have already… - Motor off more often, as mentioned - Improving your pedaling technique and smoothness, including high cadence spinning - Improving climbing technique, including out of...

Poll - Did you upgrade from Cadence Sensing to Torque Sensing?

Cadence sensing has worked great for me, and I have no need to change. Easy enough to adjust PAS levels, though I did do an aftetmarket upgrade (EggRider) that allowed to customize power at each PAS level, and modify max speed at which assist drops off.

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

Past 6 years or so: 1) IGH 3 speed 50 lb e-bike : fine for 10-20 mile rides, mainly used by spouse 2) Geared 50 lb 28 mph e-bike: enjoyed for 12k+ miles, and did enjoy it for higher speed riding. Got some exercise, but heavy bikes still feel cumbersome 3) Single Speed Carbon Belt Drive 33 lb...

    Roadster/Gravelster Aftermarket Improved LCD Display!!

Make sure it’s Lishui variant version, so it is the right connector! AND, the EggRider is tied to an email address for registration and the app? Might need to double check that you can use it without issue. Have all the settings up above in previous posts :)

    Roadster/Gravelster Aftermarket Improved LCD Display!!

I do use the external battery, and I had some discussion with Ride1Up and EggRider support. I have only had an error message a few times over the past 2000+ miles with the EggRider display. If I remember, it really only happened when under heavy load during continuous climbing and high assist...

    Roadster V2 Gravel Edition

Have fun! Got my non-gravel Roadster up to 46mph, and still pretty stable. Going down mountains and hairpins at high speed was a bit hairy, but that is likely true for most any bike.

What have you done with your gearing?

2015 E-bike, Volt Bike Elegant, 3 speed internal Shimano hub. Was fine as a starter e-bike, but battery range was low. Great to have internal hub and no derailleur. 3 gears were just enough for most situations 2017 Juiced Bike CrossCurrent Air - much more power and range. 9 speeds if I recall...

    10 miles with a 36 volt 10 AH battery.

The answer is, it depends. Depends on your weight, the weight of the bike, speed, wind, altitude gained, hills grade. Higher weight rider, and faster speed, can make a huge difference. Try again with lowest assist, and 15 mph, and report back with more info. Might be totally normal. With my...

    Chain Lubing?

Exactly. Works same as the bike specific lube. Quiet, smooth and low friction.

Cost to recharge an ebike battery.

Pennies. Almost nothing, and so nothing to worry about :)

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

Always tubes. And now, whenever possible (e-bike or traditional) , use TPU tubes for the weight savings and lighter/smaller volume spares. Found they work best for presta tube replacements, since schraeder to presta tube adapters aren’t great, and sometimes cause leaks.

    Chain Lubing?

I’ve converted to wet wax chain lube, and am really happy with it. Almost completely silent, and reduced friction. I use Maxima chain wax, but there are plenty of other choices.

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

Congrats. Suggest you get a complete book on bike maintainance, and take a class (or watch a lot of YouTube videos. To “entirely explain” is a big request, and you need to put in the time yourself (and no one can do that for you) :)

    Roadster V2 Belt snapped

Nice. Had no idea this would work without mods. My 1st Roadster non-gravel belt snapped at 5000 miles. At 3000+ miles on the second, with no signs of wear. Bought a couple of spare belts to keep in the garage, so too late for me to switch.

City alternative for ebike Bontrager E6 tires

Good choice. I’m guessing I got upwards of 7500+ miles on a set of Schwalbe Marathon Greenguard tires, on a prior 50 lb e-bike. Maybe a single flat tire, over that time.

City alternative for ebike Bontrager E6 tires

Schwalbes are great city/e-bike tires, with typically good puncture resistance. I personally prefer narrower where possible, for the lower weight, but that’s just me. And I try to pick lower rolling resistance tires, for the easier pedaling and range...

Do you carry an extra battery?

Ride1UP Roadster V2 single speed belt drive: - Up to 20-25 mile ride, internal battery only (7a, 250 wh) - Up to 50-60 miles, add the external battery (500 wh total) - For Metric to Imperial Centuries, carry an extra external battery (750 wh total) Only carry the weight that I need!
