Any recommended source for helicopter tape? Finding it fairly expensive.

    REAL bargains

Before I got a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2 GPS, I used this inexpensive one for several years and probably 10k or 15k miles, and it worked out great. Speed, cadence, heart rate, and even can upload my route to Strava. A deal for $40...

    REAL bargains

These bullhorn bar ends have been great for me, to allow multiple hand positions when climbing and to prevent numbness especially during 4-6 hour rides. Only $14.99 !! Has lasted me 6000+ miles and 1.5 years so far. https://www.amazon.com/Yizhet-Handlebar-Ergonomic-Mountain-Non-Slip/dp/B08MTGXDKV

    Throttle on Roadster

I have the Roadster v2, so can’t comment on the current display, but I was able to get all that information and more when I added the aftermarket EggRider display (which from what I can tell is compatible with previous and current Roadster/Gravelsters). My experience with that in the thread...

    Looking for minimalist, "undercover" ebike?

+1 . the look of a sleek and minimalist design (even better with a single speed with no gears or shifters) can’t be beat :)

    Vado 3.0 Range Maximization

p.s. - the other thing I’ve found that makes a difference, is going to lower rolling resistance tires (especially if you’re on the road, instead of trails). makes it feel like I added an extra turbo mode, where I expend less energy due to less watts required to generate motion not sure what...

    Roadster V2 Extended Battery

SKS bottle adapters above are great, so you can carry two bottles if you don’t have the range extender.

    Vado 3.0 Range Maximization

+1 on the aerodynamics and running motor off, when possible. makes a really big difference. I hypermile all the time, and along with the above, I also use low rolling resistance tires at higher pressure. (I don’t have a Vado, but same rules apply) only change for me though, I’d turn motor off...

    Roadster V2 Extended Battery

Looked at those and others, but nothing else besides the SKS seemed to be suitable for a large diameter downtube.

    Roadster V2 Gravel Edition

Congrats and have fun! Fyi, for those that like to do grand fondos and century rides and need to carry a lot of water, I posted a way to carry a or another bottle here: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/roadster-v2-extended-battery.51452/page-2#post-588990

    Roadster V2 Extended Battery

In case anyone wants an alternative way to carry a water bottle while using the extended battery, recently found this as a relatively clean and easy way to do this (replacing a messy plastic sheet and multiple zip tie hack).

    Rode my acoustic today.

I’m just on the verge of ordering a new, lightweight acoustic bike. Looking like a State Bicycle Black Label 6061 aluminum framed carbon fork ~17 1/2 lb track bike based single speed will be the one! 😃...

    Quietest motor?

Same here! I’m really glad I modified my Ride1UP Roadster to use an EggRider display, with its display and customizability of power level at each PAS level. Now I know exactly the real time watts output from my rear hub motor - with my settings from off, to 20 watts in PAS1, 100 watts in PAS3...

    Looking for minimalist, "undercover" ebike?

p.s.- Regarding risks of ordering online, having a SS belt driven bike does generally reduce the risk of problems, since you have no derailleurs, shifters or chains to deal with. Keeps things simple, and less to maintain. Though I would avoid the cheapest models without many reviews or history.

    Looking for minimalist, "undercover" ebike?

You may be right! Too much of a coincidence that it has essentially the specs for battery capacity, 40nm of torque, and weight :)

    Looking for minimalist, "undercover" ebike?

That Bonvelo looks nice, and seems much more like the Ride1UP Roadster. And Gates carbon belts are known to be very reliable.

    Looking for minimalist, "undercover" ebike?

Yes, very difficult to find a lower cost, big brand bike like that available to you in Europe. I have the same love as you do, for the simplicity and look of the SS belt drive low key bike. I wasn’t sure about the Ride1UP Roadster before I got it, but I’ve gotten almost 7000 miles on it in the...

    Quietest motor?

Good that you found something quiet that you like. Something about an e-bike that sounds as quiet as an analog bike, that just adds to the joy of a ride (especially when out on country roads, or when otherwise not much ambient noise around you).

    Quietest motor?

I do a lot of riding about, and tbh I can pretty much always hear the whirring of the e-bike motors and bike chains. My two e-bikes with derailleurs and hub motors are relatively noisy. My single speed e-bike with belt drive is almost completely silent in lower assist levels, and only mildly...
