That's what some flippers were doing for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe. Chrysler was doing a $7500 rebate on the sale price (their PHEVs were eligible for full $7500 credit since they were built in NA) and then the flipper would sell it because the lease buyout was lower than...

I think I mentioned this but there is a current loophole in leasing that bypasses all the restrictions of purchase (build location, battery materials, MSRP, income) because the lessor gets the $7500 credit and then can choose to pass that on to the lessee. Ally Bank is passing on this credit (up...

I got see the Ariya at the LA Auto show and compared to the BZ4Xabcefg or whatever the Toyota one is called... the Ariya seems better to me. We also have a 2022 Leaf and we really like that car so I'm sure the Ariya would be a good buy.

Hah... couldn't figure out what that "phone" cord was for but it's for the "remote" control. This is like old school technology... where's the modem? :)

That's why the EV trucks are cool... just use the outlets in the bed or frunk. Some of the newer EVs have the V2L adapter too.

So you just hook this up to the 12v battery terminals and it's good? I didn't know the EV batteries charge the 12v. Can you do this with ICE vehicles?

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

There are some instances where "on your left" works better... sometimes when I ring the bell, the pedestrian doesn't know where I'm coming from (and doesn't know they should always shift right). But I do prefer the bell partly because it makes me feel like Hector Salamanca. :) 🛎️

Lectric Bikes - The story of how two guys built a $13M company in a year

They are releasing an e-Trike to that is much lower than the competition (and it folds). Wish they would do a full size 26+inch tire bike.

    Lectric Folding e-Trike

https://electrek.co/2023/01/09/lectric-xp-trike-electric-tricycle-teaser-revealed/ More will be revealed on 1/13 but for $1500 that's a real good deal. I have some older friends who may want this over a bike.

Sure... but it's also not the type of radiator you see in an ICE car. And as others have said, there are various options for cooling like air cooled or liquid cooled that may be closed systems. EVs are more efficient in that the motors don't generate a large amount of heat like combustion...

Most EVs don't have a radiator but may have a heat pump. Hoses and such for windshield wiper fluid probably but not much else. It's very interesting because if you look at a Tesla and open the frunk, it's just as minimalistic as the passenger space. But open an ID.4, a Hyundai Ioniq 5, a Kia...

This is a concern shared by many but like with any technology, society will adjust. Remember how slow your internet was on your phone back before the iPhone? EV adoption is also driving solar adoption and in places where sun is plentiful, that's a good thing. Battery tech will evolve and soon...

In perfect EV utopia (or autopia)... everyone will have solar and batteries (or EVs will act as batteries using V2G). Neighborhoods will become self sufficient and there will not be any loss of electricity even if the grid goes down (at least in the sunny areas of the world). By then...

I'm sure they will find something to ding you on. For example... on our Leaf, Nissan had called us to come in and do a 6-month battery checkup... also called us again when it was 1 year. I'm sure if I went in, they would have found something to charge me for that wasn't covered under warranty...

I'd like to remind you that the number one brand of EVs has not had a federal tax credit for years. Prices have already dropped, the Bolt EV/EUV are ~$6k less than the previous year where most brands are raising prices. As manufacturers move to more universal platforms and scale assembly...

    Sport model by Espin discontinued

I went looking at other brands to see if they have anything equivalent to the Sport. R1U has the 500 but it's only available in step-thru right now... the Cafe Cruiser looks good as does the 700 and LTD. Aventon has the Level but at a much higher price. They have the Pace series but neither...
