    Sport model by Espin discontinued

So it's been almost 3 years since I got my Espin Sport and I still haven't found a replacement for it. It's banged up (huge accident a few months after I got it) and getting rusty (been through some rain) but it's still going and compared to the other 3 bikes I've ridden (we also have an...

Any bike shops in Los Angeles/SFV area that will service/maintain a Ride 1up LMTD?

Do you have an REI near you? You can call them and ask but they can service most brands except Super73 (at least my store does not).

    Which brake first?

Just rode this morning and it seems I use right/rear more.

    Which brake first?

Feet first! Kidding. Face first! Kidding again. I apply both with emphasis on the rear because of what others said about flipping over. I believe most front/rear wheeled vehicles put emphasis on using the rear brakes but as also said by others, it depends on conditions too.

    Recent Brake Announcement by Lectric

So anyone get any of these 3.0s with the hydraulic brakes? I am very pro-hydraulics but had an issue with mine that cost me $30+ to bleed... and all I did was take the front tire off. :(

How I was treated by Rize Bikes

Little confused by this thread, his March 15 post said he is working on a refund... then on April 5 he got another Rize bike shipped to him (undamaged) and then he disappeared. Rize must have had him "dealt with". :)

How to Make Your Bike Really Hard to Steal

My ebike is really dirty and some of the bolts and connectors look rusted... does that count?

    Electric Car thread

It is improving. Walmart and Target are planning on putting fast chargers in their parking lots. All these deals with Tesla to adopt the NACS port means that all these non-Teslas will have access to their SuperCharging network. Range is pushing up from 300+ mi to 400+ mi and battery charging...

    Electric Car thread

Tesla if you need to do.more than local driving... or rent an ICE. But infrastructure is improving and 18 minute 80% recharges are pretty good.

    Electric Car thread

EVs are not just about ecology... they are quieter, cooler, roomier and less maintenence. Don't think I'll ever go back to ICE for the inconvenience alone.

    Electric Car thread

I also disagree there is more maintenance with EV other than tires could wear out faster because of the weight and instant torque.

    Electric Car thread

So I tried a 150kw charger today: So it was a much lower rate than on the 350kw charger. Still decent... I was able to go from 62% to 95% in half an hour. I just sat in my car and joined a webinar while I waited. The "cost" for this was $12.95 if I were not on the free plan.

Just weird that I couldn't find any topics about this outage so had to start one. I must visit EBR too much. :)

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

That's the nice thing about most of our rides... dedicated paths for biking/walking and if next to a road... a blockade to separate vehicles from bikers. The one near the LA beaches is great, stretches from Torrance Beach all the way up to Marina Del Rey (and farther) but some parts have a...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Yep... no smog on the coastal rides. The ones we do the most is Lebard Park to either HB/Bolsa Chica or Newport/end of Balboa, Back Bay loop with Crystal Cover or Newport, San Juan Capo to San Clemente, Seal Beach/Long Beach (technically LA County) and occasionally Salt Creek to Dana Point.

Known Issues & Problems with Espin Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

My front brake just went out (press the lever and no squeeze). REI guy thinks there is air in the hydraulic line and a bleed will fix it. We will see. Because I don't have a car with a hitch anymore, I've been taking the front wheel off and loading it into the back of my car... the guy thinks...
