Something New Coming From Rad Power Bikes.

Per my suspicions, the RadCity is a direct drive, gearless motor. Not good for torque, but it has regen braking which is a plus. I'm not sure how the bike ended up being the same wieght (60 lbs.) as the fattire, larger frame Radrover, which is disappointing. Somewhere in the 50 lb. range would...

    @Kingsinger You are correct.

Radrover Beast finally finished! After all summer...

@eBikinator I agree. The 52V ll.6Ah battery was around $500 and the BBSHD was around $600, so I was about $400 under the Radrover's retail price. I'm assuming that RPB are getting the bikes built in China for under $1,000 per bike, but wholesale to retail is apples to oranges of course. I am...

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@dm nelson HA HA! Well, you can't go wrong then if they are kid tested and approved.

What's your farthest ride on your Radrover?

@mrgold35 I doubt you'll see that at those PAS levels or any level 1-5. I'm 180 lbs. and I've gotten 25-30 miles maximum on PAS 1-2 with the Radrover in stock form. A 52V battery at the same 11.6 Ah will grant you a little more range.

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@dm nelson Ha ha. Radrover wheels and Maxxis Hookworms are strong enough to do it. Make sure that you don't skimp on tubes. I don't think a tire liner is needed.

Something New Coming From Rad Power Bikes.

@Metalusion It's a rear hub design. Looks gearless from photos. I would guess 500-750W myself

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@dm nelson Hookworms fit the Radrover wheels just fine. I just added a BBSHD to my Radrover and wanted to remove the heavy rear hub motor.

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@Cnugget My mistake. I see now that you said "fatbike" Mariner. Prodecotech's Mariner does not come in a fattire version lol.

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@Cnugget No worries. I would contact Prodecotech at this point. They were always helpful when I had issues.

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@Cnugget My first ebike was a Prodecotech. Phantom X3 to be exact. I'm not sure if the the tire would work with Prodecotech's choosen wheels for your Mariner. You could buy one tire to check and if it fits buy the other. Or buy two on Amazon or eBay and return them if they don't work. If they do...

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@dm nelson That is correct. They will mount up just fine to the stock Radrover rims. I am running them on my Mongoose Malus fatbike at the moment (with the Radrover wheels & motor) and they work great. Plus that bike is 1/3 the weight of the Radrover.

New tires and rotating tires on Rad Rover

@sid5427 @vincent @mrgold35 @dm nelson Buy 26 x 2.5 Maxxis Hookworms if you are not going offroad. You won't be disappointed. They mount up to the Radrover rims nicely, are lower (26" vs. 29") diameter inflated for more torque, have crazy grip no matter your lean angle, and will last forever...

What's your farthest ride on your Radrover?

@Commuter101 It will slightly. I have the same setup on my Mongoose which uses the 48V Radrover battery and dock. But it's manageable as long as you mount the dock at the correct point in the bag.

What's your farthest ride on your Radrover?

@mrgold35 Looks good! I'm planning to do that this week to mine. I have the same rear rack and bag as you do too.

Awesome! Glad you're up and running!

Radrover Beast finally finished! After all summer...

@totalnovice I don't like them anywhere near as much as my Maxxis Hookworms (26 x 2.5). The Origin8 supercells are a street fatbike tire, but they don't have the grip, nor the cornering capacity of the sticky Hookworms. I notice that I lock the rear wheel up more with the hydraulic brakes now...

    Rad not working at all

Double check all connections. Make sure they are dry. I would add a very small amount of dielectric grease inside the connections to keep out moisture and corrosion. I even heat shrinked mine to keep them connected/protected, but the Bafang connectors usually connect with a satisfying snap to...
