Giant Momentum Transcend E+ vs Priority Current

'Steep hill' can mean very different things to different folks, I can only share my experiences between my old bike and the Transend. The two steepest hills I encountered in my work commute were my driveway (when driving up one section of my driveway you see dashboard, hood and sky) and a road...

Giant Momentum Transcend E+ vs Priority Current

Hey @siquerah! I've been sharing my experience with the Transend with siqueirah, so please bear with me if I repeat myself a little. A coworker used to commute to work on a bike 15-years ago, his ride was about 8 miles each way with a fairly steep, mile long hill at each end. My commute was...

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

@siqueirah Scroll down a little further, past the Vita E+ to the Transend E+. They are very similar, from my memory the Vita has a few less teeth on the crankset (geared slightly lower), it's Class 1 (assist drops off at 20mph) and has slightly more swept back handlebars. the Transend is...

Sub $3000 Leisure/Commuter Bike For Hilly Area [Final Choice: Priority Current]

@siqueirah, your wish list sounds a lot like mine as well as your creeping budget. :). Many times in life I've talked myself out of what I really wanted and got something cheaper and often regretted it. You've obviously done your research, but here's a bike that you may have overlooked. It...

First time working on threadless steerer tube, me likey!

I've been very pleased with the riding position and pretty much left mine where the Giant Tech set everything when I picked up the bike in June. Two of my friends purchased Momentum Transcend E+ bikes after riding mine: Denny is happy with his bike as is, Robin is experiencing neck and wrist...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

Woo-Hoo! Version 1.1 was finally able to update my Momentum Transend E+! Version 1.0.01 would always fail on update 2-3 at 14%. I like the lifetime milage and battery charge cycles info in the new app. I understand giant changed software developers and probably cloud servers, but it's too bad...

    New Lafree Chain issue

I've been a big fan of White-Lightning wax based lube for many years. My local WalMart stocks it along with other fine White-Lightning products! https://www.walmart.com/ip/White-Lightning-Clean-Ride-Lube-8oz-Drip/188936003

"For me, ebiking means..." Riding my eBike instead of feeling guilty for not riding my old bike.

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

I used the old app when I rode last Sunday. The app worked fine but would not upload my ride. I just updated my iPhone 11 Pro to OS-14.2, launched the new app again and tried to update the bike’s firmware. The 2/3 firmware failed at 15%, as it has every time I’ve tried it. Tried running old...

    Cable Lubrication

My dad used to do his own maintenance on his motorcycles and he used one of these Cable Luber tools to lube the cables on his bikes. I inherited the tool and have used it on my bicycles for many years. Just last week I noticed the rear derailleur on my wife's 20-year-old Specialized bike wasn't...

    DIY indoor charging station

Yea @Sierratim, I measured my battery and it's actually only ~16.5"x5"x4", not the 17.25" long dimension I found on the web. Even if I distorted the bag I doubt it would fit. After seeing the videos above, I think I'll look for an ammo can or Bat-Safe!

    DIY indoor charging station

@MeDotOrg please let us know how your battery fits and if there's any possibility of fitting an even longer battery in there diagonally (17.25"?). Thanks!

    'Real Life' Battery Range

I've been asked what's the 'real life' battery range on the Transend and I thought I'd share my reply here for others. I'm riding a 2020 Transend E+ with a 375-watt battery. Everybody's 'real life' range is different because there are so many variables that impact battery range on an eBike...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

Bummer, I updating the bike’s firmware via the new RideControl app fails at about 15%. I’ve tried rebooting the phone (iPhone 11-Pro) and bike (Momentum Transend E+), but no luck. I’ll keep using the old RideControl app until the glitch is sorted out. :-/

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

Finally showed up in USA Apple App Store! Easy to download, looks nice! Would not accept email/password combo I used for old Ride Control app. Password for new app must be at least 8-characters, upper & lower case letters and at least one digit, NO special characters (previous app accepted...

Had to have a deer tick removed today!

I live in North Mississippi in a heavily wooded neighborhood. I probably see a dozen deer a month within 30-ft of the house and untold others are in the yard that I don't see. I spend over $200 annually on Liquid Fence to keep the deer from eating our shrubs down to the ground. I also remove...

Known Issues & Problems with Momentum Products + Help, Solutions, & Fixes

I'm sorry to hear they haven't gotten your bike squared away. I think the two screws on the side of the latch just hold it in place along with the two screws at the top of the latch. The latch mounting tabs have slightly elongated holes, but I'm not sure if the elongated holes are to accommodate...

Known Issues & Problems with Momentum Products + Help, Solutions, & Fixes

On my bike the bottom of the battery is seated first and then the top of the battery pushes in and when it’s about an inch from being fully installed there’s a click and the battery is loosely held in place, but not latched. Then I quickly and firmly snap it into place. Once latched there is...

Known Issues & Problems with Momentum Products + Help, Solutions, & Fixes

Sorry you didn’t get to take your new bike home. On my bike, the battery needs to be firmly snapped into place, I position it about an inch away and give it a quick squeeze. Think of it as closing a car door, trunk or hood, pushing it into place like you are closing a kitchen drawer won’t do. I...
