The DHR has more aggressive rows of tread blocks than the F - as mentioned it assists with braking. However it's common to hear of riders running a F on the rear as well, with something that rolls faster up front for hardpack. With an ebike these are less important issues, traction ranking...

"Need" or "want". The bike comes with default assist levels. I've never changed mine. [shrug] This is like saying I don't want to change the oil in my car cuz one time they left the drain plug loose. I have never had an issue with firmware updates, with 6 bikes over three years. Also a shrug...

Lots of different iterations of android OS - try another device and see if that gets it going. The app isn't really needed for riding. Sure, it has some cool features, but I don't even bother with it anymore, I just ride. [shrug]

Yep, never heard of chains falling off, and it never happened on either of our bikes, hundreds of miles. [shrug] Now both are sold - the MTB's do have chain-ring guides.

A couple of thought as an class-A motorhome owner over the past 20+ years... 1. Sprinter campers are indeed expensive. And they are still cramped, and way limited in capacity - water, sewer, power, space. 2. Truck campers are great for some offroad travel, but still very cramped. Works out...
