    Turbo technology in 2014

Why have a separate power switch all, if you've got a key-operated switch? What I'd say to the Turbo team is that they need to beef up the flimsy 2014 joystick, since at least two members here have now had theirs disintegrate. From the feel of mine, I'd guess that the plastic post inside the...

    Turbo technology in 2014

The key on the 2014s and 2013s and 2012s is only there to lock the battery in place. I want one that disables the bike without removing the battery so at least a thief has to work hard to ride away...

    Commuter Log

Here in Portland OR, the cyclists are arrogant and feel virtuous and entitled - much worse cases of me-me-me-me-me than back in the S.F. Bay Area.

Well, the joystick may not be as sturdy as it could be. Mine is broken, and I cannot view anything but Turbo mode and charge%. Taking it in this week for a replacement.

    Turbo Brake Squeal

I found that it diminished on mine after a couple of hundred miles.

    Commuter Log

I've had several morons scream "cheater" at me when I pass them, and I'm really tired of it. Now I scream b*llsh*t back at them, and give them a ration of it if they dare argue back. I may start carrying pepper spray again, but not for the dogs...

    Turbo technology in 2014

Nice minor touches on the 2014 Turbo: The name on the sides of the front light light up to let you see when it's On. Rack mounts everywhere. Range is excellent. On flat ground, I've hit 40 miles without working too hard. Handles really well - very solid frame with good geometry for the road...

    Turbo technology in 2014

I think they had some carbon parts on the review bikes that didn't make it on the production models. I'm OK with that, since the changes included 40% more battery capacity (now 504WH).

No, the stock seatpost and bars are aluminum, and the computer is wired, not wireless.

Seat post is an aluminum Thudbuster ST, but I bought the classic Blackburn rack. The Turbo does have eyelets for racks everywhere you could put one.

    Thudbuster ST on Turbo

Just took a test ride on the Thudbuster ST - what a delight. It takes all the small jitters and bumps away, and greatly diminishes the impact of the big ones. On a rigid heavy bike like the Turbo, with only the tires to cushion your butt from the road, the extra layer of padding and damping was...

Hmmm - integration can go too far - the computer and the brake lever housing are one piece. I guess I'll have to have the brake levers a bit further down than I'd prefer, in order to better read the display.

    Turbo technology in 2014

Just bought mine yesterday - the change to the 500wh battery made the decision for me. Love the bike, but hate the supplied mirror (sticks out too far) and the rack (uses the fender for fore/aft support). I've ordered a Blackburn rack and a Thudbuster ST for it (local roads are in poor shape)...

    Volton Alation 500 Owner Review

I bought one last year and it is an awesome bike - sturdy, powerful, and good looking.
