Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

While I agree the Vado SL is a really nice bike, mountain biking? We must have very different ideas as to what mountain biking is :)

    Mahle X20

I probably spend more than 90% of my time in my big ring. The issue I have is that because it's a 1X drivetrain you get a wider range cassette and the gaps in between gears is big. It's the big gaps I don't like.

    Mahle X20

I really like the bike as well. Having the Creo for two years now, it is a nice bike but I hate the single ring. Maybe for MTB and gravel riding a 1X drivetrain is fine, but for the road I prefer a 2X drivetrain, so I have my eye on a future bike with the Mahle X20 system.

    The 2022 EWS-E

Ah, the comment makes perfect sense now. We're lucky here to have lots of gnar (it is the world famous shore, after all) but we also have lots of flowy trails. So it's nice to be able to choose what type of riding you want to do on a given day, or even on a given run.

    The 2022 EWS-E

Surly, now I'm curious where do you live and what are the trails like there? The trails I see don't look too different than the trails where I live. I live in a suburb of Vancouver, so we have our North Shore trails, Squamish is a short drive away and we of course have Whistler.

Hmmn...do ya think think it's not stolen?

Generally when they spell out the phone number in words it’s because they don’t want someone searching on the phone number. Often because they’re selling something stolen or they’ve scammed someone else in the past.

    Range experience?

I just re-read the initial post. He doesn’t say he rode with max assist for his recent ride. He said that he usually rides with max assist. Then he said he did a ride with those stats, he never says that he did that ride with max assist. Given that I can see him only using 3.55 wh/Km if he...

    Range experience?

Yeah, that’s what I was alluding to. So many factors and variables that it’s hard to compare. That’s why I threw in the extreme result I had with my Creo. But then that’s a case of I’m not really using the motor much at all. It would only turn on when my HR went above 130 bpm, and given how...

    Range experience?

That is impressive range. I’m not sure you can glean too much as there are so many factors involved with range i.e. terrain, weight of the rider, weather, type of bike, etc ….. So take it with a grain of salt, I think I’ve seen some on these forums that don’t pedal much and they’re using up...

    PLANET3 - mechanical e-bike derestriction device. https://planet3.bike/

I've been gone for a long time as I've been riding my Aethos for the past year. I just saw Alex's reply and I agree with his response to me. Also nice to know the worn out one was a copy. I think I'd buy a Planet 3 now, except for the fact that I barely ride my Creo now. The Creo rides very...

    Bicycle Sports Pacific Vancouver

I have only purchased accessories and parts from BSP and my experience was ok. They weren’t great, but weren’t terrible either.

    Mahle X20

Deacon, when has it ever been about ”needing” another bike. It’s about wanting another bike!!!! What’s the problem with the Mahle app?

    Mahle X20

My Aethos actually has 4 batteries, but no motor. Each derailleur has a battery and each shifter has a tiny battery. :)

What do you HATE about your fat tires?

Mike Towpath, cool pictures and wow great usage of your bike. I think it's great you're getting so much use out of it. I respect how you use your bike and I agree it's the best type of bike for you. But it's still not suited to how I want to ride. Mostly because I likely a sportier and more...

What do you HATE about your fat tires?

Stephan how in the world did you have over 1,000 wh of battery power on your Vado? I've lost track of your bikes, so that's a Vado and not a Vado SL? Still the Vado only comes with a 500 wh battery doesn't it?

What do you HATE about your fat tires?

and that's exactly what a fat tire bike should be used for. But I suspect like early SUVs which were meant to be off-road vehicles that never saw dirt I bet most fat tire bikes aren't used like yours. But just as SUVs evolved into crossovers which are better suited to how most people use...

    Mahle X20

I did see there were some threads about something else that referenced the Mahle X20 but no threads on it. https://mahle-smartbike.com/x20/ I'm quite excited about this system. I suppose most of this forum tend to like higher power motors and bigger batteries, but I prefer lightweight systems...
