Tried it with the chain off and it was ok in forward rotation. It did sound and feel like a bearing grinding though.

Took it to my LBS today and they didn’t like the sound of it…they think it’s a warranty claim for a new motor!😱😱😱 no idea how long that will take but I feel like I’ve lost my right arm☹️☹️☹️

Whilst replacing the chain on my Vado 4 today I noticed that when I rotate the pedals backwards there is a slight grating/grinding noise and it feels rough. It doesn’t happened on my wife’s (newer) Vado 4. Anyone else experienced this or know what it might be?

Thanks all, yes found the answer on the shimano web site and it’s to stop the mounting bolt coming loose…apparently! Why it’s only on one bolt I have no idea? All good now…another thing learned about bike maintenance.😊 I’m glad I did it as the pads were in a terrible state after 2000 miles! Next...
