    The Carrot Effect

I do, too, when I am in a hurry for an appointment, and it does not matter what level of assistance, I still work much harder. I had a stress test once and I was late. I actually worked far harder getting to it than I did taking the test.

    The Carrot Effect

I debated on posting about that. I think it's because it feels easier to pedal. if I turn up the level of assist when I am tired, I actually have a higher overall wattage output, though my HR is not as high. on my first bosch-powered e-bike with thinner tires, I found I put out a fair amount...

Priority current vs normal bike on 15% grade hill

it could if you had more gears. this is the price to pay for a belt drive unless you have a rohloff hub. there is always give and take with bikes. if you put a smaller chainring on the front, that would help too. like our tandem only has a 38t chainring, so we can climb hills great, but it's...

Priority current vs normal bike on 15% grade hill

you don't have the gearing to go up fast. on my bosch, I can do 15% grades at least 15mph on tour. 18% 10 to 11mph. on our tandem, we would be about the same speed or a little faster than you. I wish I had a regular bike to compare, but I doubt I have the energy to really get it up a steep hill.

I don't feel safe about this....

yet they work fine when you don't have a 50# rear wheel I have put 50,000 or more miles on them. though I like through axle much better they are just easier to deal with.

SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

well yes the back takes less effort to lock up. but the best way to know is to test it. Now if it locks up at 30mph because a bag strap got caught and you're fishtailing like a loon, that's a different story. wore the rubber off a spot on my tire and had to ride back on the foam protection thump...
