Thanks Scott! That thought had crossed my my mind, I wish the tool were more cheaply built - it's pretty sturdy, but I'll break out the dremel. I'm very comfortable with soldering but you're right. Better not to have ugly heat shrink anyway.

Everything came today. Installed specialized tube and Vee tires, and also a Mr. Tuffy on the back. Unfortunately the freewheel removal tool wouldn't fit over the big axle nut, and the nut won't fit over the plug! So I will have to cut and then re-solder the motor plug and didn't feel like doing...

I will definitely consider that if I get another flat too soon after the upgrades. Those are heavy, but I would consider especially for rear-only. Thanks for posting, I didn't realize people had successfully used scooter tires on a 20" ebike. Are there other forums where Radmini owners are...

I'm about 90 percent certain, but can confirm probably tomorrow night... The main issue is if the axle or cords get in the way of freewheel removal, but I took a close look at everything before I ordered and it looked OK. The smallest cog on the stock freewheel is 14T, this one has an 11T and a...

Thanks for the info! This shape of battery is known as the "Silver Fish" if you are looking at replacements. On my rides I've been a lot heavier on the throttle than you, I think. On my 11 mile ride I had 3/5 bars remaining after the battery settled. I averaged 14-15mph on hills and 20 on the...

Nice pic! I like the baskets. Was the 20 miles mostly battery? Curious about your speeds and level of pedal assist. I got less than 30 miles total on multiple top-offs before my rude wake-up call. Glad you're back on the road. My Vee Tire Speedsters shipped today, so hopefully by next...

I wish they made those in this size! So my parts are starting to come in. Here's my plan for the rear wheel: 1. 11T Freewheel to pedal assist at higher speeds 2. Name brand tires 3. Mr Tuffy (8 more oz on the wheel) 4. Better tubes! The tubes that came on the bike are garbage. Hardest to...

Well, the chain doesn't seem to have a quick link so I ordered a few. Great advice. I've already added latex gloves to my kit. So I'm also waiting on new tires, Mr. Tuffys, and a tube (couldn't get the punctured one to hold a patch). Also ordered some foam blocks to protect the display and...

Man, it is so hard to get the rear axle back in with the derailleur, chain and disc brakess combined with the weight of the wheel. After researching a bit this problem is not unique to the radmini, but many rear hubmotors. This would be nearly impossible on the side of the road. Even using my...

Thanks JR! Great advice. I was thinking its going to take a long time to inflate one of these with a hand pump so I definitely want to avoid flats whenever possible. With my road bikes its getting enough pressure, with these it's the volume... I also ordered two Vee Tire Co 20x4 120tpi...

Fortunately I had a 5mm spacer in my bike box, so I had a good ride to work and back today, which is 2.5mi each way, for a little while. Tonight I went out on the gravel next to the paved bike trail and I got a flat. I was not prepared with a patch and pump, and it was getting dark. I was only 2...

Just got the email from Rad about changing the headset spacer... now we're both out of commission for a bit. I'm hoping I have one in my parts box; otherwise I may check the bike shop, I'm still in the honeymoon phase where I want an evening ride every day. I do appreciate their quick...

Took the mini out for a second ride last night, 11 miles. I used a gps app on my phone to examine the speed. If the GPS and the radar speed sign are to be believed, the speedometer on the bike is about 1 to 1.5mph slow. The GPS was showing cruising speeds at or above 21mph. I’m thinking this...

Thanks Nick. Ran a 4 mile errand today and I think the brakes are settling in, the rear is pulsing less and it's starting to feel better. Yesterday after the 6 mile ride I charged with it plugged into a kill-a-watt meter and based on what was put back in, looking like at at least a 24 mile range...

Went for a six mile ride transitioning from street to paved bike trail to gravel. Rides like a dream. Gravel was awesome. So smooth. Good braking power but it's pulsing on both wheels. Going to see what's up with that. Hard to help it pedaling on full throttle on the flats, but fun to help it up...

Figured out how to properly adjust the brakes so they are much better. This thing is very nice so far. Also the Wellgo folding pedals are metal, I thought they'd be plastic.

Received my Radmini yesterday! Package was intact with only the kickstand having poked through a bit, but everything was in great shape. The tool kit is a nice touch. Assembly was quicker than I expected and I charged the battery. Unfortunately the weather was really nasty so I only went for...

Thanks, hope you're back on the road soon. Hopefully your issue was an isolated problem. I think you reported difficulty reaching 20mph, seemed low compared to the other scarce reports so far, maybe it was just a lemon and you'll do better with the replacement. I'm hopeful since the Radrover...

    RADMINI Upgrade Controller and LCD

Can't answer your question, but I'm curious to try setting the computer to a smaller wheel size... I guess only 16" remains... to see if it indeed gives it a few more mph. Of course the speedo and odometer will be wrong... I think for the most part 20mph will be OK for me but it will be fun to...
