Cheap DIY Tail light that runs off the computer

    I made a quick video.

    At the Beach....Trouble

Salt water is totally different, since the minerals make it conductive, not just corrosive. Salt water will make electrical contacts and more easily short electronics. Rain or fresh water splash would not concern me much.

    At the Beach....Trouble

There's not much that's worse than salt water for any electronic device. Instant fry.

    Any RadMini people out there

It is very easy to fold. Carrying is another story, easier if you remove the battery and seat. The mini weighs at least 60 pounds, so no bus rack... There are some smaller folders that could be an option... A2B, voltbike urban, etc. Also the Juiced crosscurrent looks awesome, in a regular...

    Any RadMini people out there

For me the choice was the Radmini vs the non-folding Juiced ODK. Both companies are reputable and I was interested in the utility of a "smaller" form factor with cargo capabilities, though both bikes are larger than your average 20" bike. The folding feature, torque, and the lower price were...

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

Sounds like a good shop. Fair deal. You should get a lot more miles with a professional truing.

Cheap DIY Tail light that runs off the computer

Hi everyone. Thought I'd share my wired-in Radmini tail light. Should also work with other bikes in the family. This one dawned on me as I surveyed the materials I had on hand, and cost me nothing, but from scratch could come in under 10 bucks. I have a roll of cheap 12v red led strip...

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

If you're bringing the wheel in, should be the same (process is the same). Now, if you're asking them to wrestle the rear wheel off an unfamiliar e-bike, I imagine they might charge more.

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

Should be around 20 bucks for a wheel truing, if there's nothing unusual found.

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

BTW truing wheels is tricky, but tuning derailleurs is not nearly as hard as it looks. I use the instructions in "Zen and the Art Of Mountain Bike Maintenance" but I'm sure there's guides on line. Less hassle than taking her into the shop...

    I think that's a good idea.

    Wobble Wobble Radwagon

I think if you get the wheel professionally trued you'll be set for a long time. I have had to do this occasionally on all of my bikes that have seen a lot of use, and sooner on shipped bikes from Bikesdirect. Have you had a lot of cargo or people on the back? I'm an admirer of the RW and was...

    Any RadMini people out there

Kinda... 12-15 pounds heavier and much bulkier. Also a lot more powerful. My rough measurement of the wheelbase was 42 inches (same as an average mountain bike); what is the mariner's wheelbase? Look at the extra length of the bike from the battery bay area. This makes the Radmini ride like a...

I was waiting for some newcomers to comment, since I've said a lot. I think that other than the issue with the controller, which was hopefully limited to the early releases, yes, it is reliable. I've still only got 150 miles but ride it frequently and love it. I have about 75 miles since...

Radwagon worked for 5 miles :(

Dude, it stinks but you got a defective 'wagon and are losing a couple of weeks of ebike use and some time. Recommend you take a deep breath and save the disbelief for the truly bad stuff. At least it's not a $30K Volkswagen diesel...

    Changes to my RadRover

OK, so with the freewheel tool... you have two options. 1) The best is to slice it in half, per the other radrover threads. I did not have the right tools to do this well. 2) I found the park tool was a bit softer, and you *may* be able to drill it out with a step drill bit enough to fit the...

Radwagon worked for 5 miles :(

They were good about getting back to me the next day, so I hope you end up having a good customer service experience as well. I worked with Cory when I had an issue with my controller, but the initial callback was not instantaneous. I think they'll get you back on the road pretty quickly. I...

    Let's talk Lights..

Yes.... for you to try it! ;) These "5W" lights on ebay are super cheap and have a metal housing. Might be a decent replacement for the stock light if it dies. I do like having a "be seen" running light that can activate from the panel. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) Ebay also had some...

Sorry you guys posted while I was writing... that rear led is cool. Seems like there's plenty of options!
