Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Specialized claims 38mm with fenders, 42mm without. Potentially one might do 42 with fenders if okay with lesser clearance, and it may depend on the tread pattern.

@augie05 - if your Tero's Sport mode is at the default 60% Support / 60% Peak Power it is pretty close to the full assist and peak power of the SL 1.2 motor. (320 W / 560W peak power is 57%, 2.3x / 4x rider amplification is 57.5%) .. and if your Tero's Eco mode is at 35% / 35% that is pretty...

    Battery Extender Holder

Very clever. I'll just add the thought that I doubt the RE would mind being stored upside down, saving the effort of threading the cable through the holder.

Tough to say - that's the one and only reference to an alloy Creo 2 that I've seen anywhere.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

The connecting link? As in the quicklink holding the chain together? Good grief. 🤦‍♂️ Any of the wide links can sit in the middle. and yes, it's not written anywhere official that you can see proper orientation from above, it's just something folks noticed.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

Not sure who you're responding to. Yes, the Praxis has the graphic on the inside of the ring. It's also unnecessary if you observe that the teeth sit to the inside edge of the wide-gaps of the chain when properly mounted, which you can see looking at it from the top.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

It's not needed when you physically can't put the chain on incorrectly - the wide teeth won't fit into the narrower part of the chain. This is the case for any true wide-narrow chainring whether Wolftoooth or Garbaruk or other brand. Correct.

    specialized creo 2

Creo2 returned to normal hub spacing, so there's that aspect but it's also presently heavily aimed at gravel riding not road. Not a lot of choices for 2x e-roadbike drivetrains unless you go with a hub-motor model, which again limits your wheel interchangeability. I think just some of the the...

2150 seems to be the default wheel circumference setting in the TCU or motor or wherever it lives. My 2022 Creo E5 came with 700x28c tires and a 2150mm Wheel Circumference setting. When I switched to 42mm tires I measured circumference and had my LBS change the figure since only dealers can do so.

    specialized creo 2

Specialized recommends no less than 700x38 tires, so whether it'd pass a road bike depends on what tire size you'd like to use... I also find it interesting they reference an alloy framed Creo 2 ...

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

You talked about Creo and Vado SL My Creo takes a 110BCD five hole so that's what I provided, and the 12 speed SRAM models take 107BCD four hole model which is also available. :D Perhaps the Vado SL is the odd man out that takes 104BCD in a size uncommon to mountain bikes and thus is not as...

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

You can say that but, my experience suggests otherwise... I'm well aware of the required chain orientation on the Praxis I verified derailleur limits and indexing were properly set as part of the once-over I do on a new bike Twice I experienced chain drop to the outside - both times shifting on...

Output Specialized e-bike power/cadence to Apple Watch via Bluetooth

Creo doesn’t provide BLE sensor profile apparently, though it does connect to the Specialized app via Bluetooth. Contrast to my analog road bike, both the Duotrap S speed/cadence and 4iiii power meter sensors connected to my watch over BLE.

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

Presumably the spring resists compression and the hydraulic dampening slows rebound to prevent bounciness. Much like how springs and shocks function in the automotive world, or bicycle suspension/ motorcycle forks usually work.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

All I know is my Creo’s motor is quieter than the huffing and puffing sounds I make on steep climbs without it… 😀

    Creo vs Creo 2 geometry

Wheelbase will be affected by the maximum tire clearance spec. While the Roubaix needs only enough rear-axle-to seat-tube distance to allow the 344mm radius 700x33 max spec, the Creo2 needs enough rear-axle-to seat-tube to support the nearly 367mm radius of the larger diameter 29x2.2 max spec...

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

Here in the US, or at least in my little corner of the US, choosing Specialized Delivery adds a $75 delivery fee, pickup in store adds a $50 fee, and both options also incur a $15 Environmental Recycling Fee. If one goes to the LBS and they place the order, those fees don't apply. I would...

Tero X Fender Trim to Use on 1UP Hitch Rack

I did similar with my Vado 4.0 rear fender - partly for use on the 1UP rack where I didn't want to take the spool down as far as @Ebiker53 since I use the same rack for other bikes without fenders and want to use my locks through the wheels, but also for standing the bike on its rear wheel as...
