    Charging Procedure

The manual for my Specialized Vado SL 5.0 — a well-engineered ebike by any standard — says unequivocally that the charger should be plugged into the wall first, then the bike. Once done charging, the battery end should be disconnected first. They know their battery/BMS/charger system better...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Help with new app issue, please: The Specialized app failed to record cadence and rider power on yesterday's ride. Yet I saw both in real time on the TCU as usual. First time that's happened. When I exported the .FIT file to RideWithGPS, no power or cadence data showing there, either. The app...

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

Found plenty of YT videos showing how to add/change the helper springs but none on how to know when you need any of them. Nor is there any guidance in the manuals. Not seeing/feeling a compelling reason to add a helper after 4 weeks with my SL 5.0, but maybe I'm paying attention to the wrong cues.

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

Hmmm, my kit has 3 springs, too. But my FutureShock 1.5 is definitely springy without them and seems to be doing its job. Is there a 4th spring inside? Or are these 3 secondary springs to be added if the springy component already inside needs extra help?

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Sounds like CF frame owners in gale-prone areas should consider aircraft tie-downs. The joke would've been better if the link had shown a thumbnail of the Amazon page. How do you force that on this forum?

    New Creo2

No such label on mine. Just a somewhat smudged sticker under the rear top tube indicating serial number and date and country of manufacture. Bottom line: I have no way to PROVE that my particular ebike meets ANY safety standards — UL, EN, or otherwise.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

They used this puzzling slogan for the Creo 2 as well. As a marketing ploy, the logic escapes me. Are they trying to tempt the never-ebike roadies?

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

One thing I'll give the 6.0 EQ is the rack: Looks sturdier, many more ways to hook on bungees and cargo nets, and MIK compatibility means many more bag and basket options. Wonder if it would work on the 5.0 EQ?

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Official product pages put the medium 6.0 EQ at 18.0 kg and the medium 5.0 EQ at 16.5 kg. The SL 5.0's thinner downtube makes it look more svelte as well.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

You can thank me for this release. Bought an SL 5.0 EQ new four weeks ago. No regrets, though. Even the regular SL 6.0 carbon would have been out of my price range, you still have to buy the 5.0 EQ to get my beloved yellow paint, and the 5.0 prices have yet to be reduced. As tempting as the...

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

I've had my SL all of 4 weeks, and it's had tubeless Pathfinder Pros all of 3 weeks. Not much of a track record yet, but I'm already a big fan of these tires. Compared to the stock Nimbus 2 city tires, huge improvent in ride comfort, excellent grip offroad, and noticeably lower rolling...

    New Creo2

Since reading this, I've become a student of surgical scars in the pavement around intersections with lights. The good news: The chord trick definitely helps with my biggest nemesis — the left turn signal coming out of my neighborhood. The bad news: The scars here are often odd quadrilaterals...

Greetings from a new member in...Zambia

The new SL's a dream to ride. My torque-sensing hub-drive's still useful and fun to ride at twice the weight. The torque-sensing assist is nicely implemented, but the SL's assist is of course more refined.

    New Creo2

Your Creo 2 came with UL certification paperwork? My SL 5.0 EQ came with no certification paperwork of any kind. The sticker under the top tube shows a 2022 manufacture date, but I bought it new in September, 2024. The Specialized-only LBS built it straight from its carton. Maybe 2022 was...

If the extension arm were plastic, I'd try that. Unfortunately, it's aluminum, and I don't have the tools.

Following your lead, lowered my headlight with a 4-inch GoPro extension arm. Still sourcing a cable-friendly handlebar bag. Two concerns: 1. Are you still comfortable with letting your bag rest — and potentially bounce — on the cables? Photo above shows cable routing around the headlight in...

2024 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

    Ah, so they politicize everything in Poland, too! Guessing the sausage is far right-wing, the roll is left-centrist, and the pickle belongs to the far-left Green Party. Personally, I'd set aside my partisan leanings and eat all of them. ;^}
