Quite content with my SL 1 as well. Have you considered putting a third-party headlight with its own battery on your handlebar? Bright as you want. Doesn't have to be heavy.

Interesting. My bike's front rack (different brand) also came with a bamboo floor panel. The panel had to go, as it obstructed key bungee net attachment points. But I still wonder, why bamboo?
