EXACTLY the reason I chose the Pace over the Rad. I LIKE to ride without any assistance. The heavier the bike, the less able I am to do this. The drag adds even more weight, so you almost always need the assist. The Pace feels like a regular bike when it's not powered.

Hmm...Can you explain that last thing about the difference between the 350 and 500? I just received my 500. I'm almost 65, and I see a few problems I will have to get better at dealing with. One being stopped at a light, and when I can go, and it's a steep hill, how to get going, when I can't...

LOCAL SUPPORT IS A MUST, unless you really know how to fix these. Yes, they have to sell them , and luckily I found a few that sold the Aventon, the Gazelle, Specialized and the others you mentioned. As this is my first Ebike, I was shocked at even the entry level price! Good luck!

I just posted a thread..Take a look at the Aventon Pace 500, and if you are not in a hurry, the FLX is SO nice. I just bought the Aventon Pace 500, although I wanted the FLX, but not shipping until August. Consider buying from a store, so you have recourse, and repair ability.
