    eMTB Options For 2024

Yes, but at a steep price and still VERY limited availability locally. If there had been one that I could have gotten by June I may have sprung for it anyways, but it was pretty clear they were being built with Unobtainium - at least here. Some health issues would probably have made the choice...

    Dropper post

It's not really that hard of a job. Like @Stefan Mikes I swapped out a Giant for a OneUp myself. I also helped my brother install a OneUp in his e-MTB and for that we had to drop the motor to route the cable housing. You need the correct tools and some patience, but it wasn't really all that...

    Dropper post

My bike came with an OEM 120mm dropper. I, like yourself, wanted flat footed capabilities at stops and I added a 150 OneUp. As @Stefan Mikes mentioned, they have very good quality and just as importantly, they are reasonably priced. They have some excellent geometry as they have very short...

Help !!! Cant get my rear wheel back on

and one more thing - and not just with bikes. If you are taking something apart that you are going to put back together, take photos before you start taking it apart and at each step of the disassembly. Plus - if there are things that required a specific alignment, use a mark appropriate for...

Help !!! Cant get my rear wheel back on

That washer has to sit the correct way in the dropouts for the wheel to sit correctly. It should be relatively obvious - but you wouldn't be the first to get it wrong at least once.

SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

From last week - a view of the grandstand at the home of the self proclaimed "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth", aka the Calgary Stampede. In the forefront (other side of the creek) are the barns that house the stock for the rodeo and chuckwagon races.

SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

One interesting spot along the Legacy Trail that runs from Canmore to Banff in Alberta Canada. I suppose it would a moderately interesting place to enjoy lunch... The fence is for safety as it's rather a long drop!

What Are Your Tips & Tricks For Changing a Tire After it's Off the Bike?

https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/2021-22-our-rides-in-words-photos-videos.40087/post-487201 As above post ^^ shows. I use cheap plastic woodworking clamps to centre the beads for that last little bit. A little soapy water of course, and a plastic garbage can as a workbench. Some...

Those shoes are on final clearance at $25 on the US site. Same shoe, on final clearance on Canadian site is $110. Hmmm... gouging seems to be the name of the game. Nice looking shoe however...

Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Back in the 80's, I was living up in Peace River (about 800 kms NW of here. The corn up there was amazing - and I suspect the varietal was that (or very similar). There was an area about an hour south called Dunvegan and this time of year farmers would have roadside stalls and we'd buy a sack...

    Do I need cycling shoes?

I wear an older pair of Ecco golfing shoes. The "spikeless" pattern of the sole works well with the nubs on my platform pedals, and the sole is neither too soft nor too firm. You tend to walk a lot in golf, but you need a solid hitting platform. I find Ecco shoes extremely comfortable. Often...

Getting What You Need From a Cycling GPS

With the Ridecontrol Ergo on my Giant, I can link them. I am pretty sure it's using the ANT+ protocol. I can view Assist level and E-bike Battery stats - not sure about cadence, but typically I don't care about that. There are some pretty handy YouTube videos on setting up your Garmin. Here's...
