Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I just removed mine completely (connectors are accessible in top tube via tcu on TV SL5). Why did I do this... Well I don't ride at night and I need an attention grabbing flashing front light for self preservation. This is perfect for what I need and fits on the handlebar.

Vado SL grips for max. Hand positions

GP4 for me on my TV SL5. My riding style is not very sedentary, I tend to stand on the pedals (clipped in) when climbing or needing a burst of speed - so something big enough to get a firm grip on is important. Combination of FutureShock and the Ergon's also means no more numbness in my hands...

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ - Down tube width?

It's 8.5cm wide x 6.6cm 'high' (to a reasonable degree of accuracy but didn't use my calipers).

    Unexplained battery drain

There's no option to turn the lights off on the TV SL5, but you are right that the cable could be modified to include a switch. As I want a flashing front replacement I decided to go the whole hog and disconnect & remove the front light. The connectors for the light are just inside the frame...

    Unexplained battery drain

I've just got back from a 2hr 10min ride on my TV SL5, bike was turned on but I didn't use assistance except for around 20 secs of eco at a busy roundabout near the beginning. Started at 79%, the quick burst at eco level took it to 78% and then it stayed there for the next 2 hours (with just...

Fenders for Turbo Vado SL 5.0

@bastiarno - what size Dry Tech fenders did you fit? Following on from my last posting, my front fender gave up today and split very neatly into 2 due to metal fatigue exactly at the point where it passes through the front forks (where the rolled edges had been nibbled away to make it fit). The...

Front fork screw for plug and play fenders

Just taken one of the grubs out to measure for you. Looks to be an M5 thread, total length of grub is ~6.25mm.

Fenders for Turbo Vado SL 5.0

The Dry Techs are actually quite good, my LBS fitted them when I got my TV SL 5 bike about a month ago. They're not flimsy - the main part of it is made of aluminium with only the 'mud flap' parts being plastic. Consequently they are quite rigid, plus the mountings stays fit into the forks (so...

Vado 5.0 SL - replacement tire?

It certainly is! There are various charts around showing possible tyre size for a given wheel width and 35c is well within the acceptable range. It is still a comfortable ride even at the high end of the pressure range (80psi).

Vado 5.0 SL - replacement tire?

I ride 100% on road, so one of the first things I did after the bike purchase was to replace the stock Pathfinder tyres with Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 700x35C (though they don't seem widely available - I found mine here...
