Sondors Fact Finding. Due Diligence. Scrutiny.

You got to love this "Ryan's thoughts" guy. And I quote... Feb 2015 "Their are individuals crawling out of the woodwork to constantly slam this campaign, claiming it's a scam, It amazes me how many people don't understand crowdfunding and think they are BUYING a bike like they would on...

    Peculiar Battery behavior

I hear you Brian. I had rode lots of hills in Fountain Hills AZ over 30 miles and my meter still said over 80%??? It took about 2.5 hours to recharge the battery so I know the battery indicator on the computer was wrong. I would say the best way is to get an idea of your range and rely more on...

    Actually Riding the Sondors Ebike

Radrover utilizes a "cadence sensor" as indicated by the red arrow in the picture below. I am still learning. What exactly tells the motor via peddling and what percentage assist of 350 watts is applied to the motor since you know a lot about it not Sam? I am guessing there is some preset sensor...

    Actually Riding the Sondors Ebike

Nothing to be sorry about. I am happy for you. How does it work? When you say enabled, what setting is it at? Cadence sensor or torque sensor? Can you vary it? No computer/LCD meter needed I presume. This makes this bike absolutely even greater value!

    Actually Riding the Sondors Ebike

George, is there any indication whatsoever that Sondors bikes are equipped with PAS? If there is I stand corrected and apologize. I also did not see anything in the instruction video to indicate this.

    Actually Riding the Sondors Ebike

Yes mentioned, but that is all it was, words. Adding PAS is not cheap. It is also best done while the bike is in production as oppose to post production. In my opinion, "torque" sensing is the best as compared to cadence sensing. The cheapest system I have seen are about $150 and I don't know...

    Actually Riding the Sondors Ebike

If the bike truly does 20 mph that is impressive considering the tires and weight. Definitely a looker. I have to take issue with the 90 minutes reported charge time. Sounds ridiculously exaggerated considering the charger has a 1.8 amp max output combined with a battery of 10 amp hours. Makes...

    Battery serial number question

If it has red decals it is a 2013 and has a 10.5 amp hours battery, period!

eflow looks better than I thought

It is a nice looking bike in my opinion raised or lowered-especially minus the rear rack. :) Your bike looks to be a 2013. I think all black tires and getting rid of the red trim would go a long way. None the less, the Stromer will always be a better looking bike (it pains me to write this).

What spare inner tubes did you purchase?

Fortunately (kinda unique on electric bikes) we have "quick release wheels" on both front and the rear of the bike.

Sondors Fact Finding. Due Diligence. Scrutiny.

I don't think one can get too ridiculous when it comes to safety. Considering all of the lies and questionable money left to build the bikes it would not be a surprise if Sonders cut a few corners but I appreciate where you are coming from. By the way, what happened to the torque sensors and...

What spare inner tubes did you purchase?

Tubes are very personal. The tube size is 26 X 2.0 inches I believe. Opinions on tubes vary widely (thorn resistant, rim liners, brand, ect...). Check the web for hundreds of opinions and make up your own mind. Good luck! PS You can also call Currie and ask them as well as your local bike shop.

Sondors Fact Finding. Due Diligence. Scrutiny.

There is a reason why bonafide electric bicycle companies use thicker spokes due to the motors/added weight on the rear wheels as well as the front. It is not a trivial issue. There have been many injuries and a few deaths due to a wheel coming apart and becoming grossly untrue. Spokes are...

A rather brilliant deduction! I said hmmm because it is difficult to see the difference but there is a difference. Kinda left it open to others interpretation...

    NITRO 14.5 A BATTERY

Probably the quickest way is to call Eflow support with the serial number. If you can, weigh the battery and ask them about the weight difference between the 10.5 and 14.5. I would think there has to be at least a 1/2 pound difference but don't know for sure. Maybe Ann can weigh in on this (pun...

    NITRO 14.5 A BATTERY

I believe from 2014 on they used the bigger battery. I will say in level mode 1, I get tons of miles even with the smaller battery (10.5 amp hours). I have been over 40 miles and believe I can get as much as 50 on a single charge. My battery works perfectly but it would be very cool to double...

    NITRO 14.5 A BATTERY

Yeah, this is the problem with proprietary batteries. I can't imagine a workaround on this issue without some serious pain. I practically paid $900 for my whole bike.

You might have a bad battery inside of the computer. Try replacing the battery.

Sondors Fact Finding. Due Diligence. Scrutiny.

You bring up a great point FTC. The diameter of the spokes are frightening. Just compare them to say, Prodeco. Another problem is going to be transporting these bikes with classic bike carriers. Besides the weight, the lunch box will be right in the way. You will need the kind of rack that the...
