    Allant 8/9.9 Pannier

Love my Ortlieb back roller classics. Have had them for over a decade and 15,000+ miles (24,000+ km) and they still look new. Driving Rain? No problem! They essentially a big dry bag. There are no external packets and only one small internal pocket. So if you like or need lots of pockets for...

Help in choosing, Trek Alliant +8 or +9.9?

Not according to the specs listed on the US Trek website: The Allant+ 8 website states (under "Specifications") that the Allant+ 8 comes with Bosch PowerTube 500 battery: And the Allant+ 8s website states (under "Specifications") that the Allant+ 8s comes with the Bosch PowerTube 625...

Allant+ 7S & Other Treks with Integrated Batteries

This is the 7s (in matte Quicksilver color), which comes stock with the Suntour Mobie 25 fork. That fork should also fit the 8s since it is the same frame as the 7s. Suntour makes a spring coil version and an air version of the Mobie 25. If I had the choice I would choose the air model.

ALLANT 7S vs. 8S... decisions, decisions....

Great info here. I agree with all these points. I have panniers and don't normally use a trunk bag, but I do like the 7s rack and the advantages of having a rack platform for trunk bag or any gear bungeeed on top. I also liked the Purion for its simplicity and it doesn't attract as much...

ALLANT 7S vs. 8S... decisions, decisions....

Try test riding both and see which one puts the biggest smile on your face! I've ridden both and they are both awesome bikes. Same motor, same frame, different fork, but felt pretty similar to me. I own the 7s. I probably would have gone for the 8s if I had unlimited funds (I was already...

    Scratching sound from my Allant

Hhhhmmm... difficult to tell what that is from the clip. Is your fender barely rubbing your tire? Could your disc rotor be bent (out of true) and rubbing every rotation? You have probably already tried this, but do you hear it when you rotate your wheel very slowly by hand?

Allant+ 7S & Other Treks with Integrated Batteries

Thanks! I cut a couple of pieces off an old inner tube I had laying around and zip-tied those pieces wrapped around the seat stays to protect the frame from the lock. I attach the u-lock by running it through a loop of thin bungee cord attached to the seat tube (near the water bottle...

I ordered a FAHRER Akku universal tube Battery Cover: And: For anyone interested, it does fit the Allant+ frame:

Help in choosing, Trek Alliant +8 or +9.9?

Yes. That is exactly what I was saying. The Allant+ 8 (CX 20mph version) is also delivered with a 500Wh battery. Only the 8s (28mph version) and the 9.9s are delivered with a 625 Wh battery. All five models (7, 7s, 8, 8s, and 9.9) can be installed with either battery. They also all have the...

Help in choosing, Trek Alliant +8 or +9.9?

To the OP: If it were me, I would get the 8s over the 9.9s and put the $2000 saved toward other uses such as accessories. I just think the 8s is more bang for the buck. But to each their own. Personal preference really. YMMV. Don't get me wrong though....the 9.9s is a beautiful machine! I...

Help in choosing, Trek Alliant +8 or +9.9?

While it is true that the 500Wh battery is shorter than the 625Wh battery, the battery space in the down tube of the frame is the same. Therefore Dallant's statement is correct. The frame (not including the fork or paint) is essentially identical between the Allant+ 7 and the 8 (and 7s and...

    Allant +7s or +8

To the OP: the choice between the Allant+ 7 and 8 really comes down to your personal preferences, what type of riding you plan on doing, and your budget expectations. I own a 7s but have also ridden the 8s on a couple of test rides. The primary differences between the 7s and the 8s are: 500...

Hello all that own a Trek!

Does anyone know if this would work for that purpose: It may be that this only fits the Allant+ 9.9s carbon frames and not the lower model aluminum frames. The product title specifically indicates Allant+ 9.9s. If that would not work, it would be nice if Trek made a clip in version of this...

Hello all that own a Trek!

Thanks Alaskan! That was what I was hoping for and would be my preferred mode of operation. I may request the light option when I get my Allant+ updated too.

Hello all that own a Trek!

Nice! Question: If you last powered down the bike with your lights on, do they stay on by default the next time you turn the power back on on the Purion? Or do you have to turn the lights on separately every time you power back up? In other words, do the lights default to the state they were...

    Allant +7 headlight

I usually run my tire pressure near the max suggested psi listed on the tire sidewall for the rear wheel and about 10 psi less on the front wheel. But I'm not a lightweight so I need the added pressure despite the less supple ride. I don't remember what the psi range is for the G-One tires off...
