    2018 RadPower Battery Alternative

The new battery, as far as I know, will not be generic one and only usable with the new Rad Power Bikes.

Found new rims! Not enough spoke holes .....

Oh that works just fine. You dont only use a liner, you use a special tape for sealing above that up to the rims and thats what holds the sealant in.

    Going tubeless on a fatbike

Thats the last straw Im going to pull, if everything else fails me. I dont know much about sealants, but arent those for tubes not only a temporary fix? Though they should work the exact same as the ones for tubeless. Nevertheless, Im not going tubeless ONLY for the benefit of avoiding most...

Stock fat tire/tube - keep or upgrade?

Right now for me Kenda tires or everything from Kenda can just go straight to hell. Got 2 flats in like 2 days, all in the same area. I got other dimensions, 26x4" but those are a no go for me now. Are really loud on pavement, dont offer good flat protection in trail terrain and roll...

Found new rims! Not enough spoke holes .....

Wow, I didnt find those rims at all even though I searched for hours. Thanks alot! The HL 801 are a good option. Unfortunaly they dont have a distributor in germany and I cant seem to find them online. @Ann M. Yeah, I thought that too. 80nm of torque would certainly take its toll on uneven...

    Fat bike fenders?

Regarding fenders, dont get the ones which come with the Radrhino. I took them off recently. Especially the front fender is so wobbly and catches on your foot AND the tire while turning or uneven terrain, makes annoying noises etc. The mounting construction is just not enough for such a huge...

Found new rims! Not enough spoke holes .....

I read dozen of those articles. And I know that it will be 100% impossible at least with the current tires and rims. Reason for that? If I have a flat/no tube pressure, the rim nearly falls out of the tire without me doing anything, basicly no seal at all. How am I supposed to get a seal...

    Adivise for hill climbing

Hi there. There is just one thing what you have to overthink. "I don’t see the extra weight of ebikes having much of an effect on flat roads " Oh yeah, it does. If you only want to use the assist when you need it, you will find yourself very fast in the position, that you will permanently...

Found new rims! Not enough spoke holes .....

Well, after getting my second flat in 2 days I want to go tubeless on a Radhrino (26"x4" fat tires). Easier said then done, stock rims/tires dont support tubeless. Found new tires, finding new rims is quite the hassle. Finally found sweet rims, the DT Swiss BR 710 Big Ride Fatbike 26". Those...

    Going tubeless on a fatbike

I just came home from a ride. With a flat. Again. I just had my first flat 2 days ago, got a new tube from schwalbe and now its flat again. I ride a Radrhino with Kenda Juggernauts. It could be that I run too much pressure (1,5 bar/22 psi) for a 26x4" fattire. But I just love the high...

    Good hydraulic disc brake?

Hi there, I have a Radrhino from Rad Power Bikes and Im thinking to switch over to hydraulic brakes. I dont like the Tektro mechanical brakes at all. I got some recommendation to change out the wires etc, but I do think I want to go all the way to hydraulic, I just dont like the current...

    Is 20 mph too slow?

I guess a perfect motor would be something around 500 - 750 watts, with 28 mph max speed and still being able to last long rides like 50 - 70 miles. But that seems like a dream. I just fear that Im spoiled now with a 750W motor and not going to like anything below that.

Q: If I restrict my Class 3 to 20mph is it now a Class 1?

I´d just say, if you dont know it for sure, go with the safer option if you dont know or cant handle the conesquences ;)

Q: If I restrict my Class 3 to 20mph is it now a Class 1?

Depends on your country, here in germany no way. Things like that have to go through a complex process of the company applying at the state for the registry of some sort, so it gets legal. Just because you change something which you can change back easily and nobody checked it doesnt mean, that...

    Is 20 mph too slow?

Im living in germany. Ebikes with a speed over 25km/h are calssified as speedpedelecs and those are classified as "kleinkrafträder" the same class as scooters and motorcycles up to 50m². My bike (radrhino) only needs a license plate or falls in the category, because it has a throttle. Now when I...

    Chain Life

On my Radrhino I have a KMC Z7, Im pretty heavy with 110kg, fortunaly its a geared hub so it doesnt put too much stress on the chain, even though I do like going first gear and climb some pretty steep stuff with my own strengh (with only 70W supported to balance the weight of the bike out...

What to expect with a direct sales bike?

Battery actually got better after the first charge cycles, I have yet to drain that thing completly, did not manage to, yet. No issues with battery and motor at all, not once. Thing still runs smooth top speed/acceleration and battery are the same if not a little bit better then in the...

Seeking input on first time e-bike purchase

I own a Radhrino from Rad Power Bikes. I do know nothing about Trek. But here is the thing, you could test drive the Trek and apparently you were very pleased with it. I do get that a lower price for another bike is tempting, but to me it appears that you already made your choice in your head...

What to expect with a direct sales bike?

I was in your shoes a few months ago. A year or even 2 years ago I fell in love with the Radrover from Rad Power Bikes. The only issue? America only and illegal in my country, at least back then. So I threw the idea out of my head. And out of the blue, at the beginning of this year they...
