I've been testing a mid-drive city commuter side-by-side with a hub-drive.... and I like the hub-drive better.

From rumors I've heard, Pedego is moving to 20mph top speed, rather than the easily adjustable 25mph system they've let out for years. Changing the top speed would require reprogramming or replacing the controller.

I agree that the PW display (the big LCD one) leaves something to be desired, but I think that yamaha left it to the bike company, and the retail shop to get the display secured tightly. We were critical of the display falling off completely in our comparison video.

Last year we posted some results from quite a number of range tests we performed IRL. The closest test to your situation would be the Pedego Ridge Rider with a 48v 11Ah battery (it's since been upgraded to 13Ah). 500w motor, controller throwing around 12-15a I would guess. On max torque pedal...
