Videos (one Court's) on Vado/Como operation suggest after hearing battery click into place, give the battery a firm slap to assure it has fully seated. Before I doing this on my Vado I would have occasional motor cuts outs, as if the battery had giggle room.

As we all ride in different terrain which greater effects the miles/charge, the better question would be, how many recharges can I expect from my battery. Of course that will depend on how you recharge. I expect that using best practices to get about 1,600 recharges and about 30 K miles...

My bad. The 87 m. was for flat terrain and eco mode and not turbo with 600' ascending.

A number of times, I have checked my mileage/discharge against Specialized's range calculator and found their estimates to be accurate. My ride profiles matched the elevation gains for "hilly" and "mountainous" rides, none were on the flats.

Don't know it this well help, but when my cadence drops low the motor will cut off/on. Also, you might give your LBS a call to check with them and, if you have "Mission Control" on your Como 5, the LBS maybe able to instruct you in how to adjust the motor settings to alleviate the problem. gl

What "rolling resistance" are you measuring? The resistance of a rough surface? The resistance of tire sidewall flexing?

My guess would be that the 45 mph claim is based on peak power which is often double the sustainable rate, i.e. the power level which can be sustained without overheating and burning out the motor. The peak rate being the highest output without consideration of overheating.
