    HELP with first e-bike selection

The OP's spec's include a wide range of the ebikes on the market. As we enter the winter months many of those bikes will go on sale, especially those that are being replaced by newer models. Mark downs of 30% (1/4 to 1/3rd off) can be had. This puts $5,000 bikes within range...

    Motor Drag on Specialized Vado?

And obviously, if all ya can do is 12.5, then 15.5 is better.

    Motor Drag on Specialized Vado?

Wrong. 25 kph = 15.5 mph. And it's clear 15.5 mph is better than 12.5 mph.

    Brose woes

First thing to check is whether your battery is seated, making solid connection. Remove your battery and reinstall. After hearing click (which you would think indicates connection), now give the battery a smart slap with your hand. When I did this my motor cut out problems all but...

    Best battery charging practice.

This thread is good source for best practices to get the most from your battery, long term. https://electricbikereview.com/forum/threads/e-bike-battery-guide.24443/ For a typical ride I need about 50% of battery, so I charge to 80% at the end of a ride, and when beginning prep for next ride...

Known Issues & Problems with Brose Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

A follow up after 500 additional miles, the grating attributed above to the Brose motor, turned out to have come from grating between the battery and casing/frame which was flexing under load. A bit of silicone grease at contact spot solved that problem, as it has not returned in several...

Real competition from the new Trek Allant+

If 46 lbs was a real weight, the competition would be real . . . but the "8" you buy will be much heavier. See the Trek website.

What gear are you in? The only times I have used it was when walking up hill and I was in a low gear, did not notice a problem.

Who's the oldest and youngest rider here?

Did go to Dr's who had me on five (5) prescriptions for twenty (20) years. Finally got serious about weight 5 years ago and substituted spinach from bread and pasta. Without any help from my doctors, lost weight and continued to improve my diet and . . . stayed on the bike and the symptoms...

TREK ALLANT+ ALL THE MODELS (7, 8, 9), ALL THE *Original* SPECS and my 9-15-19 RIde/Review

Agree. It looks like there has been no advance from the 2019 Cross RIP at $4,200 and 45 lbs. My hope now is Trek will refresh the CrossRip with the new lighter Bosch motors drop closer to 40 lbs. Will have to wait and see if Trek brings out a new model or drops the CrossRip and idea of a...

Who's the oldest and youngest rider here?

Shouldn't be to hard for you. You are already doing at least one thing right . . . riding the bike. As for the rest, just read Dr. Gregor's "How Not to Die" and pay attention and you are well off on the way to double 40.
