Specialized como 4.0 vs cube town sport pro 500?

But speed takes power, and 28 mph requires almost twice that of 18 mph. If you would like to play with the physics of the matter this is a good place to go. https://www.gribble.org/cycling/power_v_speed.html

Whos changed their disc brake pads? It's so hard!

Should that have been question # 1?

Whos changed their disc brake pads? It's so hard!

You do agree, that if they are mechanical brakes, following instructions for hydraulic brakes would create more problems.

Whos changed their disc brake pads? It's so hard!

Sixty years ago (had to throw that in) I was taught in physics that the virtue of hydraulics was that pressure applied to a reservoir would be applied equally to all outlets. On a bike, pressure on the brake level is transmitted to a reservoir and applied equally to BOTH sides of the brake...

Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

One more question. Is your headlight attached to the handlebar stem or to the front fork? If the former it is likely to be the 2019 model, the later the 2020.

Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

Please let us know what it tops out at under power. And, don't mean to pry, but what was the price?

    Growing impatient

Are you carrying baggage from your days answering support email and calls? As a reseller? See your post in this forum: I've had mine since they were introduced. Fantastic. That said, a correct voltage reading at the charger output doesn't always mean the charger is working. Sadly I'm not...

    Is the CrossRip+ discontinued?

Share your hope that Trek would put the new Bocsh motor in a restyled (or not) cross-rip. FWIW they are still showing for sale marked down cross-rips on Trek's web page. If worst, came to worst could you order one directly from Trek for delivery to your dealer? gl

Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

Actually Specialized is listing two Vado 3's, one at $3,450 (MSRP before end of model discount) and the new version at $2,700, which weaker motor, is 9 speed (11-36t) vs 10 (11-40t) As an owner of the high price model, this is annoying. Creates confusion and devalues the model. Bummer.

Bike that can be ridden without pedal assist

There are some bikes being designed to be ridden without assist. They have low weight and low wind resistance, i.e. low riding position and the drop bars that come with it. The low position lets the entire body participate with about a 15% power gain. The Orbea Gain has set the pace here...

    Trek verve+ 2, Giant Quick-E or Vado 3.0?

Using the walk assist as a "start-up assist" is a fantastic idea which I am adding to the must have features for my next ebike. Of course, this would be something that I would expect to control within the software, for example to move the cut off speed to say 4 to 6 mph. If you think about it...

first ebike - 14 mi commute each way

The bike referenced by the OP was the Budnitz e bike. And which is this: https://budnitzbicycles.com/bicycles/view/modele-ebike It is a custom ti bike described as "the world ultimate electric bicycle for cyclists", the "The creme de la creme of electric bicycles." No price is stated, I'll...

first ebike - 14 mi commute each way

Is it practical to recommend a custom made titanium bike for a guy on a $3k- $4k budget? What's the ticket for a Budnitz ebike?

Vado 5 not responding issue - power and assist surge

In my case, yes. My problem was that occasionally the motor would lose power momentarily to minutes (say once every 3rd or 4th ride). It was as if there were a loose connection rattling loose. The Vado slap put an end to the problem in my case and apparently, based on post here, it has...

Vado 5 not responding issue - power and assist surge

No. Watch Court's video on the Vado 5.0 at about minute 18-20 where the firm slap is demonstrated.

Vado 5 not responding issue - power and assist surge

Remove your battery and when you reinstall, after you hear the "click", give it a good slap with your hand to make sure it is seated.

    Suspension Seat Posts

Okay, it broke, but there is more to it than that. It broke it the weakest point, AND in this design, the weakest point has a lever arm (the compression device) between it and the seat rails which magnifies the forces placed on the weak point. I for one would what heavier walls on the seat...
