Vado 4.0 LTD - very capable "gravel" e-bike as well as commuter

" We have gone the larger tubless tyre (2.8) way with 650 rims for gravel rides. " Very interesting. So interesting, one has to wonder whether Specialized would make it an optional choice, e.g. the Vado 650.

Optimizing Specialized Creo Expert SL with 1.1 motor for 60 miles at 25mph

As there is a Creo in my future, I have an interest in your thoughts to which I would add, that my interest is in using the "e" feature for assist hill climbing. Judging from reviewer comments this is an important consideration and I would think Specialized focused on meeting it. Good luck...

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 SL vs Turbo Vado 6.0 vs Trek Allant+ 8S vs Giant Explore E+ 0 PRO GTS

Might consider these ebikes have a "walk asist" button for motor help walking up a step hill, which might just be the ticket for going up stairs (if wide enough). Could be helpful.

    Why so few Trek owners?

    And what a bore.

    Kickstand

You may not be extending the kickstand all the way forward. You may have already discovered that the stand needs to be push forward to support the bike best. Enjoy your bike and the forum.

Buyer beware, blatant lying on Specialized UK website!

My guess is the "600 wh" is from the USA literature and is for the 5.0 model which also has the stronger 1.3 motor. IMO, the op got it right, Spec. should correct.

    Riese & Müller : Reliability & Support

Thanks for explanation. A clarification the "how of it" was my focus, should have been clearer.

Enough is enough, is it time to begin a Class Action or other legal action for Allant owners?

GuruUno is not just climbing on Trek, he left a pile on Specialized. Glad you got him . . . for the duration. GuruUno: "Took it [Vado SL 5.0 EQ] for a spin today, not impressed, cheap feeling, overpriced, $2500 ballpark where it should be next year at $1999. Brakes are horrendous. No...

How important is it to torque the rear axle nuts on an e-bike?

It's not difficult. Remember "quick release" hubs? If you do they were not over tightenable. You can always fall back on, "tighten as hard as you loosened." With the same wrench its quite accurate and if you want to test, do a comparison open ended vs. torque wrench.

Larger a chain Ring for Vado

There was a time when your lbs would replace a cassette (or the worn out rings) when worn out. Anyway, that is what I am going to do when the time comes.

    New carbon wheels for Creo?

Odd. To me the most natural thing is to go to a custom wheel maker for a second set. You have virtually unlimited choice. Whereas with the OEM?

    Vado speed

Do this. What is the highest speed you are reaching when on your Vado 4.0 in turbo power level? If you are not exceeding 20 mph, then ask yourself whether the LBS may have sold you a model 3.0 by mistake (the Model 3.0 being 20 mph limited, above 20 you are doing all the work).

Trek Corporate Retail Store Acquisition Challenges

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

"8. A nice class 3 bike for $3500 and weighing at 33lbs (it's worth repeating again) ." And I hope Specialized repeats with a Creo SL model at these spec's.

How many miles do you have on your Brose system?

Vado 3.0 2108 build with 5,400 mi. and no issues. In first few hundred miles I thought I was hearing things from the motor and took it to lbs who found nothing and with time this sounds just the motor doing its thing. It is nice to hear there is a reasonably priced motor rebuild program...
