    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Only the early px motor like mine only works correctly in kph. The later versions work ok in mph

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Is it second hand? Mine was £135 delivered from the manufacturer. It’s possible you have the wrong type. If the plug looked damaged I’d send it back and get a refund mate then contact speedbox. When you go on their site you just click on the picture of your display and it takes you to the...

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Hi there, I have the old display (mobile phone style) my bike is a 2015 so it’s the older px motor. I connected mine as the instructions and it work as it should. Gives the wrong info in mph mode but it’s correct in kmh!! If I’d have known this I would have gone with a different system. Having...

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Ordered one yesterday, been told the new version gives correct speed etc, also that it won’t affect the motor in anyway, it just doesn’t stop at 15mph. The US version of my bike is restricted to 20 mph so the motor is ok past 15mph, it will just run the battery down in less time! One bonus if...

No not yet lol, I had some know it all telling me yesterday that you need a licence to ride one of those bikes!!! Yea and a mot and road tax and insurance lol, what a moron. I have a smile on my face when I pass the human powered bikes. Once you've got a power pack, there's no going back!!!!

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

I'd be happy at 20 mph. In 10th gear on the flats, my pedal speed is around 17 -18 mph which I'm comfortable with, if I want to cruise with motor help I have to drop to 8th gear, at the same pedal speed that gives me 14.8 mph. It's a shame you couldn't adjust the speed yourself to suit as 20 mph...

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Here in the UK the max limit for electric bikes is 15mph. From what I understand it's higher in other countries, so if that's the case, these bikes were designed to go faster but the UK models must adhere to the 15 mph limit. So 'unrestricting' the motor system in theory shouldn't affect the...

    Speedbox 2 for Yamaha system

Just been reading up on the speedbox 2 for the Yamaha system. Looks very impressive that you can turn it on and off with the light button, plus all the read outs are not affected. Can someone tell me, are these speedboxes etc good for the motor? Do they damage it in any way? I'dlike to get one...

    emergency kit for rain

A friend of mine ran his bike for 4 years and 32,000 miles! Through rain, shine and snow here in the UK. He never had a problem but the motor gave up and the battery was on its last legs. He changed the motor but instead of a 200w they gave him a 250w, it blew the speed controller. He messed...

    emergency kit for rain

I would have thought the manufactures would have built in some sort of weather protection. I would assume if you rode or fell into a pond or something that could completely submerge the bike, then water would probably get into the electrics and damage it that way. Looking at the Yamaha system...

    Haibike Hardseven SL fantastic!!!!

I looked at the suntour post but it says max suggested weight 100 kg, I'm 103kg so I'm not sure that post would survive lol. Hopefully the bike will help me loose some weight!

    Haibike Hardseven SL fantastic!!!!

Not been off this since i bought it, fantastic bike no problems as yet as such but the brakes seem quite noisy, sound like they are grinding on mine and the wife's bike. Never knew how much a pleasure it is to ride a bike again without struggling (and we both were!) wish i could have afforded...

    Another 24 mile spin!!

wife didn't want to go out on the bikes so i went myself, up to our local park and rode around it twice...... first time round i passed 5 guys on mountain bikes, they were all sat down having a bite to eat....i saw the looks as i went passed. Rode round the lake which is in the middle of...

    Longest ride yet!

Me and the wife clocked up a whopping 31 mile yesterday, I know that doesn't seem much really, but what a great ride. Still came back with 33% left, could have done 40 miles!! The amount of other non electric riders we passed struggling was amusing, some comments 'I could do with one of those...
