THE ABUS BORDO™ ALARM FOLDING LOCK

I like this. I have a Bordo 8000 that doesn't have an alarm which I really like. Easy to use and stow, and would take a pretty large bolt cutter or angle grinder to defeat. I use it for daytime parking at the grocery store, Target, cafe, etc. I think a nice loud 100db alarm would make it even...

Another NYC Crackdown - 247 bikes seized in 24hrs

That, and the fact they rudely drive down the sidewalk expecting pedestrians to jump out of THEIR way.

    Motor postion

I think the steeper angled motor looks better, and slightly less noticeable, but in reality it doesn't make any difference in performance. However, you do know that those are different Bosch motor models, correct?

Hi tech solution to a low tech issue.

Go for it! I drive my Tesla with the rear camera on all the time and it gives me great situational awareness. I think it would be even better on a bicycle!

Looking for folks to interview for a research project about e-bikes!

Recreational cyclist, but long time motorcycle enthusiast. Serendipitously "discovered" ebikes due to my interest in electric cars. PM me if you like.

    eBall 29"er

Thanks for the education on the Fournales forks. They look very cool and I assume lighter than conventional? I ordered from Roshan of Biktrix one programmed for a 52v battery, along with the grip display. I'm hoping to be able to cruise level at 25 mph or more. PS; Is that above photo of the...

    eBall 29"er

JRA, Thanks for your very thorough ride reports on the Tongshen. Nice photos and awesome you are getting in some good winter rides! Got to ask; what's the story on that fork? I never seen that design before. Carbon fibre legs? I just ordered a TS today to build up a "grocery getter" on a 29er...

    Former motorclist getting into ebikes

Long time moto background here too. Found ebikes and haven't looked back. Sold my street machine (Moto Guzzi Stelvio) and currently have the dirt bike (Beta RR 450) up for sale. Concur with JRA on hub drives for the road, and mid-drive for the trails.

Hi Ann, I would like to see a section in the forum for member to get together for local rides. I know there is a section for Events, but I was thinking of a area where we would be looking for others to ride with. I know they are out there & can't be the only person who would like to find...

A Tesla Too Pricey? E-Bikes Offer Entry-Level Electric Transportation

Started off putting EBO kits on my wife and my 80's & 90's ridged mountain bike which we "comfortized" and work great in the neighborhoods and multi-use paths. Also have a couple of full suspension emtbs; a Haibike with the Bosch CX, and a Bulls with a Brose. These are a riot on the trails.

How much do you think the Vello Bike self-charging claim is for real?

100% completely adulterated BS! Kinda like the old-timey tonic (snake oil) ads that made so many outlandish claims.

Bike rack rec's for step-thru model

Do yourself a favor and at least have a look at the 1up platform rack https://www.1up-usa.com/ It is very high quality all metal with no plastic parts that will eventually break, and is very easy to use and secure. I used my today and it is a joy to use a very well engineered product.

A Tesla Too Pricey? E-Bikes Offer Entry-Level Electric Transportation

I've got a Tesla Model S, and several ebikes. Although the e-car is great, I enjoy riding my ebikes much more.

Pedego disservice to the ebike community?

I watched this video and was annoyed a little by how ebikes are portrayed. Very few were wearing helmets, often not peddling but just throttling through the multi-use paths, and most appalling of all at time: 58 - roosting and deliberately eroding the trail! There is a lot of hate out there for...

Looking for recommendations. I know nothing

If you have a bike you already like to ride, consider installing a kit on it. I have 2 of the Electric Bike Outfitter kits on our tried and true '80s & '90s bikes and absolutely love them.
