Installed a Rock Shox on my Trek XM700+

If anyone else wants to do this to theirs, I have a Rock Shox Recon Silver for for sale in this forum's classified ads. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/rock-shox-recon-forks-27-5-wheel.21693/ Would need to make sure the axle spacing (100mm) and diameter (15mm), as well as the stem...

    Any Prescott AZ emtb riders?

My home is in the pines, but within the city limits (1.2 miles S of the Courthouse Square) and homeowners insurance isn't any higher than when we lived in Scottsdale down in the desert. Most are firewise neighborhoods and the wildfire season really isn't that long basically ending once the...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

LOL, that cracks me up! I'm going to put that one in my rotation in addition to "push bikes" and "analog bikes".

    Tandem eBike ?

All I can say about tandems is; if the Captain gets a little flatulent NEVER, I'm mean absolutely NEVER let one rip! My wife will never ride on a tandem bike with me again...

    Any Prescott AZ emtb riders?

Yes great mtb trails that are continually being made by a coalition of bicycle groups and the local government. Another aspect that makes for great riding, especially with emtbs it the hilly terrain. The weather is great too being not too hot and we get these wonderful late afternoon...

    Any Prescott AZ emtb riders?

Nobody? A couple of the traditional bike shops here in Prescott are now selling emtbs. I got to think there are others out there like me that would like to join up and go for rides? We got such awesome trails around here.

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

Hey LimboJim, Thanks for the info. I too ride pretty intense trails on my emtbs and have been thinking of trying out the Sram EX1 8 speed drive train when my 10 speed Deore XTs needs replacement. Interesting that the EX1 chains are so much cheaper, but how about the cost of the new EX1 drivet...

eMTB Experience: Professionally Built Terrain Test Course Sits Right Next To The Worlds Only Indoor eMTB Bike Race Series

You know it was very hard to figure out exactly what the event actually was supposed to be. An endurocross (with motorcycles) an emtb race, and expo? Not clear at all. If there was an amateur class for an emtb race I, and several of my riding buddies would have surly signed up, unless there was...

eMTB Experience: Professionally Built Terrain Test Course Sits Right Next To The Worlds Only Indoor eMTB Bike Race Series

I would like to attend this event, which the next one happens to be within 10 miles of my home. However I cannot find any specific information such as what manufacturers will be in attendance, time of the event, admission, etc.

Not the usual "which bike is best for conversion" question

Motobecane 529HT from Bikes Direct with a Tongshen middrive.

Trying To Get Away with Riding an Illegal E bike Don't be stupid. You could end up behind bars.

The statue that you cited is the one in AZ that allows for controlled access highways, such as freeways, to restrict access by pedestrians, bicycles and other non-motorized traffic, and low powered motorized vehicles. This is pretty typical and makes sense with the high speeds that are posted on...

    Should wearing helmet be optional?

Do we really need another law to regulate our freedom? I almost always wear mine, but occasionally jump on the bike just to ride a few houses down to the neighbors, and do indeed feel a bit more vulnerable, and am taking more of a chance - I know that. But I don't need to be braking the law.

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

A few months ago I bought one of their $300 "sale" bikes as a platform to make my "grocery-getter" with a Tongshen mid-drive. It was the Motobecane HT529 if I remember correctly. It was a basic OK bike with about the level of components expected from a $300 bike. It was delivered quickly, boxed...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

Great write up! I've often wondered about that bike and if indeed it is a good value or not. I'm sure you will have a blast riding it!

e-MTB - Flats or Clipped In?

I ride flats, but with a half toe clip to keep my foot positioned and to stop getting smacked in the shins. It works well for me. I don't think you need to be nearly as efficient on an emtb. Also, when I fall, I don't want to be attached to that heavy 50+ lb bike!

Possible New Taxes on Bicycle Tires and Batteries.

Why stop there? Might as well put an additional tax on shoes, and having them re-soled. Actually this bill sounds like a ploy to intentionally get the bill rejected with the tax to local transit agencies - putting a tax on taxpayer supported entities - double taxation. That way the politicians...

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

Thanks, I got it! I've never experienced those issues with tubeless, but then I run my tire pressure at 24/27 in my emtbs, and they are not fat bikes or even true plus size tires. Thanks for the knowledge!

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

What are those problems? It seems to me from watching the installation video it is a tubeless set up but with an additional foam core added. Please educate me!

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

I don't know about those Vittoria Air Liners. Seems to me if you have to bother with sealant, you might as well go full tubeless and what do you need these liners for? I live half the year in AZ where there is lots of things to make the tires flat. On my emtbs I go the tubeless route and...

    Which speed mode to use?

Minuscule amount of power is used when the motor is not activated so it totally doesn't matter. This is one of the many wonderful things about electric motors as opposed to gasoline engines that require some fuel just to idle.
