Upgrading to a BBSHD on a BBS02 based e bike

Thanks, but I think a chain tensioner is only needed with an IGH when the bike frame has vertical dropouts for the rear axle, and no way to adjust chain tension. Mine had an IGH from the factory so it has horizontal dropouts, and the chain is tensioned by moving the rear axle forward or...

Upgrading to a BBSHD on a BBS02 based e bike

Ok thanks, PM sent. I ride conservatively and mostly in third gear, except hills and starting out, and I’ve trained myself not to shift with the motor engaged. It doesn’t like to shift then anyhow, so it wasn’t difficult.

Upgrading to a BBSHD on a BBS02 based e bike

Thanks. A fellow I know locally uses the Luna 1000w program on his builds. He stated, “Problem is going to that bbshd with the sturmey archer, it will destroy it with my program.” The BBSHD I’m getting has the Luna 1000w tune. Do I need to be concerned regarding my SA 3sp? My hunting days are...

Upgrading to a BBSHD on a BBS02 based e bike

Can this only be done via the programming cable? This kit has the 750c display with Bluetooth but I’m not sure what parameters I can set with it.

Upgrading to a BBSHD on a BBS02 based e bike

Hi folks, I have a BBS02 based fat tire hunting bike that was originally geared “low and slow” for off-road riding and hauling game out of the woods. I made it more roadworthy by swapping out the 34t front sprocket first with a 46t then with a 52t sprocket. That worked to decrease the pedal...

    Drones

I just picked up a used DJI Mini 2 off Facebook Marketplace at a bargain price. Because weight is under 250g, no Federal Part 107 license is required. I’m really impressed with this mini drone. I’ve never flown anything before, yet I was able to not only fly it, but also take decent well...

I wonder how much they’ll charge for it?

Simple question - can a BBSHD be run with a BBS02 controller?

I have a BBS02 currently. I want to upgrade it to a BBSHD. I found a used BBSHD complete kit for sale for $300 but the owner says the BBSHD’s controller in it currently is hit or miss. I just wanted to know if I could test his BBSHD with the controller from my BBS02 to make sure it works...

Simple question - can a BBSHD be run with a BBS02 controller?

Hi folks, I recently located a used complete BBSHD motor kit for half the cost of the same “bare bones” BBSHD motor itself from Luna. I’m looking to upgrade my BBS02 to BBSHD. The seller says his BBSHD has 2100 miles on it. He also says the controller is on the fritz, sometimes it works...

Motorcycle carrier as cheap sturdy alternative to bike carriers

I’ve found that if I just park my e bike behind and parallel to the motorcycle carrier, and squeeze the rear bike brake while pulling back on the handlebars, the front of the e bike pops up in the air, and I just swing it onto the motorcycle carrier. Then I just grab the rear rack and lift the...

possible to charge bike battery with large external battery pack? while riding?

I have a Yeti Goal Zero Lithium 1000ah battery with usb, 12v and 120v outlets. I could put it in a trailer to recharge my battery via the standard charger, but it’s heavy and moderately bulky and I’m not sure just how much it would extend actual ebike battery life. I run a BBS02 fat tire bike...

Question about class 3 bike on Maryland C&O tow path bike trail

Having lived in Johnstown PA a long time, I’m quite familiar with the Pennsylvania section of the GAP, although I gave up riding back then due to chronic ankle tendinitis before I ever got a chance to ride it. My kids rode part of it with homeschool friends though. That huge viaduct across the...

Question about class 3 bike on Maryland C&O tow path bike trail

Thanks. That’s closest to me, about 45 miles away. Are you aware of any other rail trails farther west, along the Shenandoah Valley?

Question about class 3 bike on Maryland C&O tow path bike trail

Thanks. I’m west of Winchester so as far as I know the WO&D is the closest rail trail to me. I do know the abandoned rail line from Front Royal down the valley through Strasburg and Woodstock along the Shenandoah River has been donated for future development of another rail trail so I’ll be...

Question about class 3 bike on Maryland C&O tow path bike trail

Because my balance isn’t 100% from prior strokes, I prefer a wider crushed gravel or paved surface. We did go on a brief section of the C&O canal path, and the gravel sections seemed more like narrow wagon wheel tracks, and I just was uncomfortable trying to stay in those tracks. I’m fine with...
