I have been interested in Frey bikes also and had some contact with them. They have great components for the price but there is about a $780 shipping via air to add to the cost. The Frey brand section on here is a good place to get more information like someone suggested.
Several of my ebike friends wish they would have gotten a throttle on their bikes for various reasons so they at least had that option. They stated there have been times they woukd have used it. One had some injuries and said it would have been useful. Don't have to use it if you dont want to I...
Cuttingloose, The Frey cc is a low step so pretty easy to get on from what I have seen in videos but not quite a step through but the Chinese girl pictured riding it was only 5'2". The main problem is the wait time to get one. You didn't mention if you want/need a throttle or not because that...
Thanks Browneye, I will do some more searching. I should have mentioned I will only be looking at mid motors that have throttle capabilities which narrows the field quite abit
browneye, great article regarding hub motors. I liked the explanation of what effect the controller has on the output of the motor. Do you know of a similar article for mid motors? I would like to read same details about mid motors.
Thanks for your comments. It sounds like your terrain is pretty flat. Anyone know how it performs going up some long, steep paved roads using throttle only and then also when using pas? Thanks
I like tomdav comments about the logo with no stars, also I would think the companies would want a link back to your review if they are on that list. As a side note, I like your explanations in your responses to the concerns with Dost in your post above and it answered any questions I had. I am...
The new model Court looked at (https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bc+bike+show+2020&view=detail&mid=B30D8206DF5BA6C1939DB30D8206DF5BA6C1939D&FORM=VIRE) had added a suspension now and is 28 mph.
Don't know much about this one but saw Court's latest trip to 2020 bike show in Vancouver. He visited both where they had eprodigy magic pro with a belt drive. Looked interesting.
Both have the newer Bafang Ultra motor and torque sensor. If you want to look at a rear hub the the Surface604 Rook or Colt has torque sensor, one of the few that has that on rear hub motor. $2,200 with comparable battery ah.
cutwatra, you made some good points. You asked about others to compare. Look at the Biktrix Juggernaut ultra 1000 for $3000 so about $200 more than the Dost if you don't do any upgrades. Also the Rize RX is somewhat comparable at $2,600.
I see almost no recent action on EG brand posted here. I thought maybe they were out of business but saw good EBR review and found their website and they have 2019 models listed but no 2020. Anyone dealt with them recently? Seems like fairly decent ebike.
Dave, have you also looked at the Biktrix Juggernaut ultra 1000. That is the one besides the Rize rx and Frey cc I thought stood out.My favorite is the Frey but the time frame to get one is frustrating.
