Lesson learned: riding within my means

I theoretically could have cheated more with throttle and gone further. But yesterday the sun and heat were draining me, regardless of how much I was pedaling. I Do want to do it mostly myself, not pure throttle. Another rookie factor was - lack of hydration. I need to have a big bottle of...

Lesson learned: riding within my means

Got humbled today trying to go too far too soon. Most of my rides, often after work at night, are not very long - 5 to 7 mile sprints. There's a ride happening in my area tomorrow that is 28 miles - 14 one way and 14 returning. This morning, I tried to *test* if I could do it. With the heat...

I leave this to the experts. No way I would take this on. But kudos to those who can, safely.

    Sliding saddle post

Outstanding info. Thank you folks. tomjasz - arthritis indeed sucks. I have regular flaring situations of stiffness but also great pain in some of my fingers. And I'm a pretend musician, so, that makes it double concerning. Tom@WashDC - that's a really good idea, getting some tackiness...

    Sliding saddle post

I need to raise my saddle. I have a Lectric type bike, and the post is locked with one of those locking levers. I did it today, super tight, as tight as I could make it, and eventually, the saddle slid down. I'm sure I could come up with a home hack, but, what is the Proper way to deal with...

Cannot allow my hobby to burn down my home

Can't say I don't think about this. I do. Disturbs me a bit. Did not think of this stuff before buying. I also don't have a garage to store stuff in, further away from people. My bike is in a closet with battery inside, and my spare is in a drawer. Have thought about a battery box at least.

What spoke wrench for these spokes?

I'm thinking this is one case where I should close my Amazon browser window, get off my butt, and go to the LBS - with my bike in the back.

Which ebike to buy? GoCycle, Vello ebike+, any others?

Welcome to the deep rabbit hole. I don't have much info to offer - I'm new to this world. But, that Gocycle is a pretty sweet looking bike. I don't know with 100% certainty, but I think the Gocycle motor has more power than the Carbo.

2020 Cycling Deaths Broken Down & Analyzed

In motorcycle safety training, they teach you that - you are essentially invisible to car drivers, and, plan accordingly. They also tell you that putting yourself among cars can never be - Safe. You do what you can do to Reduce risk, but, you have to accept the fact that it is indeed not...

What spoke wrench for these spokes?

Can you take a look at this pic and possibly recommend the Park Tool spoke wrench I need? The tire is a CST/CHAOYANG 20x4. I don't have info on the rim. Here are a couple of pics. Any help appreciated.

Anyone ever heard of Honeywell eBikes?

So, do you mean, that is another completely separate company from Honeywell, licensing their brand?

Anyone ever heard of Honeywell eBikes?

I came across Honeywell eBikes. Anyone know anything about them? Is this the U.S. company, or, is this a Chinese company using the name until caught? The Dasher eBike they have looks interesting, actually. For a brand with so few eBike models at this time, they actually have one of the...

Lectric XP 2.0 - Real World Woes

Hmm. This seems like a lemon situation compared to tons of other Lectric success I have read about. Would you mind posting a link to the Alibaba bike you think the Lectric is based on? I have a Paselec bike that looks like a clone of the Lectric. I am unable to get any parts support from...

    Replacement controller options?

I am just discovering this thread. I am inclined to go down this road someday. I don't have a Lectric, but I have what looks like a Lectric clone. 500w motor. Same M5 display. Same battery type. I have fretted over the fact that my particular OEM - Paselec - is absolutely useless...
