Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 vs Diamondback Union 2

And… um… maybe I’m wrong, but aren’t we to take torque ratings with a boulder of salt?

Raleigh Redux IE 2018- my review

Ok, so I am very excited to report an extremely successful upgrade to my Redux. For $50, my bike shifts quieter and more smoothly than before. It’s almost like a different bike! What did I do? I swapped out the chain. That’s right. I’m now rocking a KMC e10 EPC ebike-specific chain. It’s a...

Sorry to be dense... which motor is in my 2018 Raleigh Redux?

    Bike Wheel Locking Nuts

I just put hexlox on my wheels. It was more expensive than I expected, as I had to replace the quick release axles completely. But my previous plan wasn’t working out- I’d bought a foldylock compact and a medium sized Kryptonite U lock. I figured between the 2 I could lock everything, but that...

First eBike for around $2K for 12mi roundtrip NYC Commute (Bulls Cross E8 vs IZIP E3 Moda vs Trek Verve vs Aventon Pace 500)

Just want to recommend the iZip Moda, it’s a great bike and a killer price.

    Anybody here with a 2018 E3 Moda Step-thru or step-over Medium size???

I’m 5’6” and have a small (2018 Redux, actually, but it’s the same bike.) it’s just a tad large for me. I think their bikes run large and suspect the Medium would be just fine for you. Also: that’s a really great deal on a bike I’m quite happy with (tho I paid $3K).

Seattle area bike shops that work on ebikes?

Hello Bicycle is a small shop on Beacon Hill that has zero attitude about ebikes (in a good way.) Tell Sam I sent you.

Raleigh Redux IE 2018- my review

I wish I could tell you I’d put 4000 miles on my Redux. No such luck. On the other hand, it remains trouble-free after 700 miles. I counseled a friend to buy a 2018 Moda last month at the fire-sale price of $2250- wish I’d gotten that deal. I still love the bike. Enjoy yours!

Brose display; BLOKS; 2019 switch to Bosch?

how’d you check your sw version?

Brose display; BLOKS; 2019 switch to Bosch?

No range estimate. I bought mine through a LBS, which hasn’t been terrifically helpful. Court has a video where he goes into the display in detail, and he menti9ns that its supposed to show a range estimate somehow but he doesn’t figure it out. I’d also like to see cadence, and distances in...

Brose display; BLOKS; 2019 switch to Bosch?

Thanks, Ravi! I was puzzled mostly because the Redux and Vado displays looked identical- maybe BLOKS just supplied the programming for the Vado version? Anyway, no matter. Yeah, I meant no slight to Bosch. The 2019 Redux is a very attractive bike at a very competitive price. If I didn’t have my...

Brose display; BLOKS; 2019 switch to Bosch?

So I’m very happy with my Brose powered 2018 Raleigh Redux. I particularly like the bright, removable Brose- labeled computer/display, which looked pretty damn identical to the displays on the 2017-18 Specialized Vado. Now I see that Raleigh has gone to Bosch for the 2019 Redux, which is a...

    Redux vs Vado 3.0

I’ve had my Redux for nearly a year and like it a lot (if you search for my posts I’ve reviewed it and discussed its +s & -s at some length.) Were I in your shoes, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again- I rented Vados twice and feel the Redux is very similar and in some significant ways a step up...

It finally happened - ran out of juice

This. I think it’s a psychological thing- when I ride my Brose ebike in Eco for a while and then turn off assist, I SWEAR it feels like something is dragging... but nope. After a couple of minutes riding with no assist that feeling goes away- but it sure feels GREAT to turn it back on!

    Black Friday

I’ve a small, sorry. I really, really like my Redux. I’m constantly thinking of the little things that make this ride so sweet. The Brose display is super nice, love the fact it has 10 ‘ticks’ instead of the more common 5. It charges my phone, is removable, has a walk assist function that I...

    Black Friday

That Izip Moda is essentially the Raleigh Redux I bought for $3k and am very happy with. If it REALLY sells for $1500 this weekend it’ll be a truly smokin deal.

Haibike Sduro Trekking or a another Specialized Vado

I love my Raleigh Redux which uses the Brose Motor and in many ways is similar to the Vado. The one regret I have is that, like you, I’d like to have more range (I’ve eked 50 miles out of the 496kwh battery here in hilly Seattle, but it wasn’t easy). If I’d bought a Bosch bike, I’d consider...
