Have a 27.5" x 2.8" MTB tire - Schwalbe nobby nics. Went to change the tube and it took hours and was incredibly difficult. Pushing the bead towards the center of the rim to get it on and off required great strength and was almost impossible. Getting the tire back on was almost as difficult. So...

Hell of a light! The trails at Acadia are open 24/7, I have confirmed it with multiple park rangers. I would like to bike to the top of Day Mountain at night for some stargazing. Good to hear from you again.

Interesting thought - a tactical light as a bike headlight. How do you mount it to your handlebars? Does it have sufficient floodlighting to fill out the trail?

Just passed 3000 miles on my original MTB tires, Schwalbe Nobby Nic. When should I be replacing them? They seem to be fine. There is still some tread left. This is the highest mileage bicycle I have owned.

I just keep a 5' long by 2' wide board of wood in the truck bed, along with a sturdy stepstool. Wheel it right up and down to the truck bed. No need to break your back lifting the bike.

If you have a pickup, why not just wheel the bikes on the bed of the truck, and tie a couple of ratchet straps over the handlebars to secure them? No risk of getting rear ended and losing the bikes, no risk of the heavy bikes falling off the rack, and no road debris to scuff up the bike. Seems...
