Stock fat tire/tube - keep or upgrade?

Go tubeless if you can. Just saw Finish Line's demo video at Sea Otter with their carbon fiber additive to their tubeless goo - had like 100 punctures from people stabbing the tire and sealed instantly and still held air.

Batteries batteries batteries, one big reason why choose an established ebike brand with good reputation.

Absent buying utter crap bikes from Amazon or Alibaba, it's not a worry, as nobody is willing to risk a brand selling junk batteries There are batteries and then there are batteries. Can buy lower Grade B or C cells for cheap because they have lower power density. Similar idea with computer...

    Big guy needs help

? He wasn't asking how to swap motors - only about swapping wheelsets on mid-motor bikes.

    Big guy needs help

With a mid-motor, there's no difference than a normal bike to change wheels. Can be done in a few minutes.

Converting Class 1 eBike to Class 3 eBike

Why would they pose a problem? You're not going to climb faster than 20mph and sure as heck any bike goes downhill faster than 20mph. The only time you're likely to go faster than 20mph is on flatish roads where speed pedelecs are already present.

Will EBikeshare Replace EBike Ownership For Most People in Cities?

Bike share seems destined to fail as mass transit- look at the disaster unfolding in China. Literally millions of ebikes are being scrapped - most are new or almost new. Clogging up every available sidewalk and people treat them worse than garbage - just dump them anywhere. Not a chance...

    Big guy needs help

Why not just buy a mid motor emtb to start? Put some road tires on, or buy a second wheelset and can use as a commuter and a trail runner - two birds, one stone. Rear hub motor bikes don't offer such flexibility. Biktrix offers a hardtail with various wheel options (can request additional...

    Hello from Germany!

You probably were looking at the $C prices. There's a currency toggle to USD at the top left. There's multiple Canadian companies offering similar bikes. Surface604, Biktrix, Teo, Voltbike etc etc etc

Penalty for e-mtb on USFS trails ?

Not even sure how USFS would even know if you've got an ebike unless it's a bike with obvious slapped-on batteries. Worst I could see is they give you a warning - you'd probably only come to their attention by acting like some sort of idiot - nobody is going to waste their time policing silly...

Lol. I strongly suggest you buy from Rad - seems you're really hung up about shipping.

Wait a minute. How fast do Voltbikes ship?

From Court's review last year: "VoltBike is an online-only electric bike company based out of Burnaby Canada. They recently expanded to a shipping depot in Northern Washington to serve both markets more effectively, and to me, that’s a sign that the business is going well. I’ve reviewed a...

    Looking for 1st ebike

Vast majority of ebikes are assembled in China, or places like Vietnam. USA cannot compete with $1/hr labor.

I need help choosing between Addmotor and DJ Bikes

For $1700, surely you can find a better bike? Court recommends the Voltbike Enduro (best value full suspension emtb). Bafang mid motor is a much nicer option imo. https://electricbikereview.com/best-electric-bikes/ https://electricbikereview.com/voltbike/enduro/

What to expect with a direct sales bike?

Consider Evelo. Nice bikes with outstanding warranty. Lots of these direct-sales guys are tiny shops with little/no inventory, dubious customer service and weak-to-lousy warranties. Surface604 seems to be one of the better/bigger ones, along with Juiced/Rad. While I'm not a huge fan of...

    Looking for 1st ebike

I'd avoid any bike with a rack-mounted battery. Places a lot of weight in the wrong place (tail/top heavy). I'm a fan of online sellers as price points are better and selection is greater than relying on whatever brands your local bike shops might carry. I'd also look for a bike with fatter...
