    US Manufactured Ebikes; Cost/Benefit Discussion.

As an immigrant myself, living in the most populous/wealthiest/diverse/liberal state for 40+ years, I suspect my world view of America is less European-centric than most. Made in America has never impied Made by European-descendants in my mind. Quite the contrary.

    US Manufactured Ebikes; Cost/Benefit Discussion.

That video is hugely self-serving propaganda. Apple's margins are gigantic and could easily afford to build/assemble with US labor. Boeing can build intricate/complicated planes. GE can build highly technical jet engines. Both take massive engineering/manufacturing talent that is home-grown...

    US Manufactured Ebikes; Cost/Benefit Discussion.

A vibrant US manufacturing blue collar sector won't ever re-emerge - unless perhaps US wages continue their 4+ decade-long stagnation so that they are competitive with the 3rd World again. Until then, there's little chance American unskilled labor can compete while it remains 5-10-20x more...

Looking for comments on Evelo Electric bikes

Evelo has a 10 day trial period. Should be sufficient to determine if you like the bike. Delta X looks like a nice design. Look at the soon-to-be-released Aurora. Fully Loaded version comes with 750w Bafang w/throttle.

    Contacting Bull North America

I tried to contact them several times. First time it took about 10 days to get a response from the right person. Once I eventually rec'd a partial response, I sent an immediate follow-up email asking again, but never rec'd a reply. This was about 3 months ago.

bike that has: 8 speed internal rear hub, Gates belt drive, mid motor, long range, comfortable!

It's at least $1K overpriced, like most everything from Pedego.

    Haibike Flyon......2019

That thing will fly off the shelves. Hit the trails in the morning. Have lunch, charge battery and hit the trails with a nearly-full battery in the afternoon.

"No fair." In so many ways!

"No fair" isn't necessarily a criticism - often it's wistful envy. I know I said similar things when I'd be struggling up a hill on my analog bike and an ebiker passed me.

    Tariffs and eBike Prices

There won't be any new US jobs. All that will happen is parts will be assembled in some other low-cost nation where the aren't tariffs. Nobody is going to pay $15/hr plus fringes for low value-added product when can get same labor for $1/hr and no bennies overseas. Apple is a prime example -...

    Tariffs and eBike Prices

Nonsense. Production will simply move to Taiwan, Vietnam etc. No jobs are coming to the US.

Increase the Speed - Giant Quick E questions

Yeah, often chainring will interfere with the chain stay. Depending on how ghetto you get, maybe a 10lb sledge and a judicious whack might create enough clearance :)

    BULLS E-bikes for 2018 - Massive 100+ lineup

. Definitely a nightmare for dealers, but it's a boon for consumers IF there were stores you could test them all in one place. The ebike industry needs to get its act together. Way too many small shops with a desultory selection.

    BULLS E-bikes for 2018 - Massive 100+ lineup

Bulls needs to work on their dealer network. Here in the Bay Area there are very few dealers, and very limited bikes in stock to test. Considering their huge number of quality bikes, it's a pity not to be able to test ride a wide selection. Bulls need to open regional ride/sales centers that...

    Can Brose motor be "de-tuned"

You're paranoid. Nobody is checking. Canadian sellers offer Class 3/4 models. Biktrix sells Ultra bikes that are 30+mph. Most people want to de-restrict and buy after-market speed dongles.

    should i buy this sondors?

Curious why you'd want to buy a Sondors in the first place? Just because low-end models seem cheap? Once you start adding bigger motor/battery/suspension, there's not much difference btw Juiced/RadPower and a slew of others.

    From Our Friends at BH

I'm with you - won't miss the silly EM name. I'm very interested in their soon-to-be released Atom X Lynx 6 Pro with Brose S motor and large 700/720w battery using 21700 cells. There was lots of promotion in Europe about it, but none in NA. Pathetic, especially as you say their US guy is such...
