    Mud flaps

Got my ST1 LE 19 months ago and have put on 6k miles so far. Last year was the wettest year on record in Seattle for quite some time. It was pretty obvious that the fenders wouldn't be long enough so I added mud flaps, as I have many times before on road and commuter bikes. I quickly...

    Ikea Sladda trailer for ST1

FYI...The Sladda trailer at Ikea is $130 and will work with the ST1 rear axle with just a slight bit of filing to make the hole in the hitch bigger. I just took an old love seat to the dump today with it. Got a lot of laughs as it looked like I was pulling a rickshaw. Tai

    ST1 Extra Battery?

I use two Ortlieb Office Bags on my St1 LE for everyday commuting. One has my laptop with extra padding. The other holds food, clothing, etc. The ST1 battery fits nicely inside and I think it would be possible to carry two batteries if necessary. Tai

Pedals - do you use the stock or did you upgrade?

I use BMX flat pedals with pins for grip. Anything without pins feels too slippery in wet conditions depending on the sole design. I would prefer not to be clipped in on an e bike. Tai

New tires for ST2, which ones where to buy?

Only thing I don't like is the size...not a whole lot of clearance between the stock 2.15 Big Bens and the fenders. Both my partner and I own ST1's and had to tinker with both front and rear fenders in order to not have tire rub. I think my next tires will be 2.0's. Tai

    Gocycle G3 user review

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've sold my GoCycle G3 to another forum member in nearby Portland, OR. Was a great bike while I had it and I hope they get the firmware issues resolved to everyone's satisfaction. I'm back to just riding my Stromer ST1 Limited Edition. Regards, Tai

    Gocycle G3 user review

@RichardThorpeGocycleDesigner Kudos to you for being willing to engage consumers in this forum as a product designer! I appreciate that you've addressed every single point of criticism, and much more objectively than I'd expect of someone who knows this product better than anyone. I would...

    Gocycle G3 user review

@Derek S-H I would suspect that the G3 is a more evolved product than the G1, especially since the range was notably increased over the G2. I agree with you that the options are really overpriced. I really wanted a set of fenders for this thing and balked when I heard the price. I wonder if...

Stromer ST1 platium - chain falls off constantly

My partner just bought a ST1 Platinum in lightly used condition. I made a chain keeper out of the same hard wire material. This one attaches to the front derailleur bolt, which I've replaced with a longer one and added a wide washer. Not sure if you can see that I just bent the top and bottom...

Stromer ST1 platium - chain falls off constantly

I made my own chain keeper out of some thick steel wire I salvaged out of a collapsible laundry basket. Attached to seat tube with inner tube to protect paint and a super thick zip-tie to keep it in place. This has been on since last year shortly after I got the bike and the chain hasn't...

STROMER ST1 Limited Edition Saves >$2,000/year

Same boat...got my LE just under a year ago and about to hit 3k. I'd also have to pay $240 a month for parking in downtown Seattle. Traffic has become a nightmare in this city and I'm faster getting around on the e-bike. However, I've spent $500+ on rain gear in order to ride year round. I...

    Headlight on st2

How much light do you need??? Have to say that it's a huge peeve of mine to see bike commuters using the biggest light they can find in the city. It's overkill for lit streets and blinding to oncoming cyclists. Theoretically speaking, these big lights should be pointed down to the ground, but...

    ST1 rain-commuter hacks

Made a couple of changes to my ST1 limited edition for commuting here in rainy Seattle. Added mud flaps but found that the velocity of the water caused it to become atomized spray when it hit the mudflap. Added a vertical series of string (chalk line) to catch and wick the water down. Much...

    ST1T vs. ST2 choice

SWEET...You're going to have a blast. Some recommendations for when you pick it up: - Get a bigger bell! The stock bell is too quiet. With a high speed bike, you want to be heard from further away. The Crane Suzu is loud enough. Spurcycle is nice, but pricy...don't fall for the knock-offs...

    ST1T vs. ST2 choice

Nikolai! Did you get over the shame?! I have no experience with the ST2. Love my ST1 Limited Edition. I don't think you could go wrong with the ST1 T, which is pretty similar to my LE. Let's grab a drink sometime and I can go over what changes I made. Tai

    Seat post security

In my ST1, I had to cut a soda can shim to make the seatpost stop slipping. The bike already came with an aluminum insert that went between the seatpost and frame. The soda can shim can be put in between the insert and frame. I also used some assembly paste. No more slipping. I still have...

    St2 Big Ben OEM"s

I had looked into the Big Apple Plus. Does it matter that it isn't rated for E-Bike 50 like the Big Ben? The cross section also shows that the Big Ben has another layer going bead to bead (Snakeskin?). I found this image of the Big Apple Plus compared to the Big Ben (not the plus model...

    St2 Big Ben OEM"s

I don't believe they are out yet. Schwalbe's website lists them as "new for 2017" and not currently in stock. Tai
