SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

I took a “wrong” turn and ended up on a dirt road so after riding that a bit, I turned back and did about a half mile of very rocky cross country, finally saw the trail, got impatient, and blasted across a bunch of dry, dead vegitation to get to it. Dumb! So I tried the pump and ride method...

Things are going well, progressing, I’m learning. Rode about 80 miles this week. I’m always thinking about refinements, improvements, replacements, but I need to be patient and just keep improving my skills and general condition, especially when I start thinking I actually need three different...

after hours only (I rolled over my share of rocks on the trail today) while repairing the tube….twice! . But it seems to be holding air. I really didnt want to whimp out and use a new tube. .

…and I needed to take off the rear wheel anyway to correct the installation of the fender kit. And of course it’s always good to train in a controlled environment so you know you can do it in the field where it counts. So it was a good exercise. I had tire stuff with me and I made some...

This better? Today was the first real single track effort (after about 70 miles of dirt/gravel/road) and I am clearly not in that league. This is desert riding with washes and big rocks everywhere and thorn bushes to brush by - fun stuff! So first crash, first flat, first airborne with the trail...

couple more from today - it’s easy to follow the powerline road but there were some significant washes every couple hundred yards. Fun to ride and negotiate but a few surprises along the way too. No damage and no new injuries though so all is well. Another good day. I have a knee injury and cant...

Borrego Springs and Anza Borrego SP are definitely on my list. Wont be able to hit them this time but next time I come this way I’ll do some riding on that side.

A really good handle bar cell phone mount?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yesterday I realized I have another parameter - I would be nice to be able to use the camera on the cell phone (iphone) to shoot video. My current bulky, cheap, but seemingly robust mount has a bar right in front of the camera.

Defenestration - I haven’t read every post so it might have been submitted already. But if not, here’s a very useful word to add to your vocabulary.

Thanks for the warning - I get enough of that already in my daily trials and tribulations…

This is from 69’ elevation looking at the Salton Sea which is around -226’ at the surface. Its been interesting riding below sea level.

A really good handle bar cell phone mount?

I’ve tried two different mounts and both were under $20 so admittedly cheap, and neither does the job sufficiently. What I’m looking for is something that will hold the phone without fail (both of mine seem to do this but they haven’t been tested in rigorous conditions), is not big and bulky...

    lets talk motor wattage

From a fellow beginner/novice: I shopped the same “big three” mentioned above: Giant, Trek and Specialized. I was also completely new to the E-Bike world, but I knew I didn’t want a cheap Chinese knock-off or gimmick bike - I wanted a versatile “real” e-MTB with sufficient assist for my...

    Turbo Tero 5.0 first impressions

I’ve been riding dirt roads and dodging pot holes and cow poop, and had rocks and sticks stuck in the fenders, but I’m trying to keep it clean while its new. I know it wont last. In three days I’m headed south to the desert for a month of trail riding. I’ve been trying to get out every day even...

    Turbo Tero 5.0 first impressions

Well a few more miles down the road, a few improvements, and I’m getting to know the bike. And today that motor “noise” I complained about previously was a welcomed sound as I made the turn for the last uphill mile home. My improvements: pedals with enough grip to hold my shoes especially when I...

    Turbo Tero 5.0 first impressions

Thanks for the insights. This was my first ride and I’m sure as I get to know the bike better I’ll get into fine tuning. I also managed to burn up 38% of the charge in 12 miles! I played with fine tuning a bit on my wife's 3.0 a couple weeks ago, but this time out on the 5.0 and I was wearing...
