    Turbo Tero 5.0 first impressions

How’s this? My natural inclination is to always clean everything, but its a bit like old bike cammo so I’m leaving it dirty.

    Turbo Tero 5.0 first impressions

Just curious about this little gaurd/guide. I’ll replace it when I get home in a couple weeks, but it doesn't seem to do anything so for now I’m not going to worry about it. I’m not even sure how it got broken. Is it something important enough to be concerned over? Sorry about the bad pic - poor...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

Interesting. I rode about 20 miles in the desert alone today and loved it, even when backtracking a couple miles when I got to a ravine I couldn't cross. But my wife does virtual rowing competitions with folks all over the world so I understand that as well.

I do too - slightly smaller and less agressive tread. I saw some tire specs that included rolling watts and it would seem some balance between that and the amount of tread really needed for your type of riding would optimize that aspect. Something like this would give enough traction for my...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

Probably not. The whole idea seems a little repulsive to me, but I guess you cross that bridge when you get really hard core about a hard skinny seat. I don’t see the need but I know people who do. Me, I’ll just stick to lubing the chain and ride on a seat with some padding.

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

I still have the Rivo Sport that came with my Tero 5 and I’m going to hang on to it. Its a fine seat, I just wasn’t quite ready for it. Probably in another couple hundred miles I’ll try it again. Grips are another story. Hands started going numb again at around 10 miles today (and still had 10...

Looking for a MTB for an 11 year old grandson

Riding will be trails and rural roads around his house, all over our 40 acres, and then where ever travels take him. He just wants a bike but his older brother pirated his for parts saying “it was a POS anyway”. Not a good situation for a new Rock Hopper.

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

Exactly what I was looking for - I was definitely in the #1 position - now I’m in the neighborhood of #3. I like the H-bar but want to try to get it right without making a major change yet. I only have 140 miles on the bike so I’m not ready to abandon the stock bars yet. On another note, Im...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

I just lowered mine a bit more and with rotating the grips a bit more I have a more or less neutral wrist position. Heading out for 10-15 miles of new desert trails today. Hopefully it will help.

Looking for a MTB for an 11 year old grandson

I want to buy a nice new bike for an 11 year old grandson, but unfortunately he lives with two brothers, the three collectively being known as The Wrecking Crew, but individually the kid in question is smart, respectful, and somewhat introspective. I think he’s ready for a nice bike but I’m...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

I’ve loosened up quite bit so no more death grip and that’s probably helping. Also here‘s another shot of the grips - I’ll adjust them up a bit more tomorrow and see how it goes.

Looks like a Ride1Up Scrambler/Super73 Type bike is coming

Don’t know about what’s coming soon, but this is one great looking bike:

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

I’m a complete rookie so I really don’t know. Is there a diagram somewhere on proper position? My wrists are bent slightly with my hands bent back (up) a bit, and I’m putting a lot of pressure on my hands (palms mainly) I believe because my bars are too low, but lets not get into all that. Its...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

I’ve only made it to page 7 here, and I don’t want to make a hasty judgement, but can we get “mature” (as in adult, sensible…) back in the title of this thread? And veering dangerously back on topic, what are the prefered methods of addressing numbness in hands on longer rides? I’ve changed to...

SHOW us YOUR PIX here .... Odd, WeiRd ,UnUSuAl or EyE CaTchIng things from your rides

12.2 miles of the same sort of stuff today - I’m pretty much deciding that these roads are just too abusive for the bikes and bodies. I wish I took a pic of the oasis with the bikes in it because I’ll probably never go back. This is me smiling because we are back on the easy stuff.

Agreed - everything associated with snow is hard on equipment. I lived in snow country for 20 years and don’t miss it a bit.

Stage Coach Oasis - a 19.8 mile round trip through the desert from our camp site near the Salton Sea. About 1/4 paved and smooth dirt/gravel road, 1/2 somewhat challenging but overall good riding, and about 1/4 I’d rather not repeat. But a good ride, no damage, no jnjuries. BTW I’m not exactly...

One bike for everything? Commuting, Exercise, MTB/Gravel. Reality or Myth

Dredging up an old thread that mirrors some of my thoughts and ideas, I thought I’d ask @Mr_Reality what happened but it appears he’s no longer in the building…? For my .02 worth, for this kind of riding rear suspension is unnecessary and not worth the $2000 upcharge, and also not all that...
