Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

From a Tero owner‘s perspective I don’t think you’d benefit from the slightly greater trail capability, you’d want to add the EQ kit, and you’d probably end up changing the gearing to meet the requirements of street/commute riding. I’m glad I bought the Tero but I ride trails and rough...

    Fulfilling a dream

Great story and ot seems to be coming together. Not sure if you got your answer on the compressor yet, but the short answer is yes, you can cut the lines, release all the refrigerant (probably not a popular idea with some folks), then get an HVAC guy to silver solder the lines back together with...

    Rear View Mirror for Bike

another vote for this: https://www.serfas.com/shop/products/mirrors/mr-4-glass-lens-bar-mirrors-left-right-specific/ Holds adjustment well enough and has plenty of adjustment for those swept back bars. I like the under bar mount approach pictured above and will also give that a try. Might give a...

Downhill with Turbo Tero 4.0 EQ

I do this on my Tero 5.0 and it has the EQ kit, just like the 4.0. Only change I made (on the EQ stuff) was trimming a few inches off the bottom of the plastic part of the front mud guard - it was catching on curbs and small bumps, but it was really just annoying - didn’t hurt anything. The bike...

    Firmware update for charging limit

Odd because I did my 2022 Tero update from home.

    Countersteering

Post 29 was a result of one of those occasions. I’m still waiting to go bald to show off the scars. That was a road bike of course, primitive by today’s standards, but with drop bars and I remember pulling up on the oposite side to make turns - felt kind of like down-hill skiing - fun till it...

    Countersteering

I got pretty comfortable on my Harleys and got a little creative at times.

    Countersteering

The bike does lean - the rider doesn’t necessarily have to. You can lean your body out of the turn while the bike does the work. Also I was unaware of low speed counter-steering until I watched the video, but now I realize I always do it, just to a lesser degree and without any conscious effort.

    Countersteering

Leaning is helpful but when counter steering (on a motorcycle anyway) its unnecessary. You can lean out of a turn (the “wrong“ way) while counter steering and and still glide through a turn just fine. The bike does the leaning for you once you initiate the counter-steer. But everything is...

    Countersteering

I can accept that to a degree, but it doesn’t explain why counter-steering has an effect while traveling in a straight line. If you are traveling straight and level and push the left side forward (or pull the right) you will go left. Once in the turn I can see that you would have a slightly...

    Countersteering

This pretty much sums it up. At slow speeds you turn into the direction of travel, at higher speeds you counter-steer (or fight it through the turn and wish you had). My understanding of this was that it had something to do with breaking the plane of two gyroscopes, but physics isn’t my...

    Firmware update for charging limit

I don’t know why you’d go to a shop for this update (much less pay for it) - it’s easy, even for me, and I’m fairly limited in the tech savvy dept. If you can buy stuff on Amazon, you can do this update yourself. Also its easy to toggle on and off in Mission Control, so there is really no...

    Resist all negative thinking…

I often have the same thoughts. Everyone has a voice and anyone can publish or broadcast, which of course is a wonderful opportunity, but there are no longer any social, cultural, educational, or even commercial constraints, so no skills, knowledge or ability are required, and mental stability...

    Resist all negative thinking…

I’ve been doing that both figuratively and actually, but decided to provide a little perspective. Probably falling on deaf ears or worse, but this is far more prevalent on this forum than elsewhere so it obviously doesn’t have to be this way, it’s mentally unhealthy, and I thought I’d try to...

    Resist all negative thinking…

I’ve been putting off posting about this since I first joined this forum, hoping I guess that it was an anomaly or isolated instance. But apparently it isn’t out of the norm, and I really think this is worth some consideration. My post from another thread on the issue: “I just really don’t get...

    Please help which chainring?

Yes, I went from 36 to 44 and could no longer use my 42t rear cog because the chain was too short. 8 teeth results in a big change in circumference. So I imagine going the other way it would be too long causing the problems inherent with that situation. But you can certainly experiment - wont...

    Mission Control glitch

Are you mixing up % charge vs % battery life/condition/status or whatever they call it?

    Please help which chainring?

you might get away with it with a 6 tooth change. I can tell you from experience that 8 is too much.

    Please help which chainring?

Find the specs for the bike. You’re looking for the BCD - bolt circle diameter. So if its a four bolt chain ring and the specs say its a 30T104BCD just about any 4 bolt 104mm bolt circle diameter chain will fit. So you need that spec.
