    Hydraulic Brakes

I r0de a similar Raleigh. Rode nice. The throttle is something they add on, not built with throttle at factory. I rode three Pedegos for a good 20-30 minutes each. They all rode beautifully. Just can’t get over the look of the battery in the rear. Guess I could hide it with a couple of panniers...

    Hydraulic Brakes

I rode the Interceptor at the new Pedego st0re in Tucson. I like the ride, fit and finish and high quality parts. I don’t like the look of the battery in the rear. The other bike I’m considering is the 2018 Raleigh Retroglide. Has battery in the center downtube and a mid drive motor.

    Hydraulic Brakes

Hey Vincent, I live in Tucson and I’m deciding between the Pedego Interceptor and another ebike brand that has the battery on the down tube instead of the rear, and a mid-drive motor. I am w0ndering which Pedego you ride and what your thoughts are. Thanks.

    Mag wheels or spokes?

Nirmala, Pedego is coming out in spring with a mid drive with Gates belt drive. It’s called The Conveyor.

    Mag wheels or spokes?

Thanks, Shoestring. I’ll talk to the Pedego store owner before deciding today, he knows my priorities pretty well. Leaning towards the mags mainly due to spokes possibly breaking eventually. And like you said the mags look pretty cool.

    Mag wheels or spokes?

I am ordering the Pedego Platinum Interceptor today. I considered the regular Interceptor due to its many awesome color combinations, but the hydraulic brakes in the Platinum was the deciding factor. Safety won over aesthetics. Question: Would you go for mag wheels over spokes? The mags lo0k...

Hey Court, Ravi, Dewey and other knowledgeable folks here: If you liked two ebikes equally and one was mid drive but it cost $500 more than one with a rear hub motor, how much of a factor would you make the mid drive? I’m down to either the Magnum Cruiser or the 2018 Raleigh Retroglide. The...

First time buyer needs your expertise please

Thanks, Dewey. The Raleigh has the mid-drive motor but does not come with lights or a throttle. I would add a boost button for $50 and lights. So the Raleigh price would be about $500 more than the Magnum Cruiser, which has the rear hub motor, but comes with lights and throttle. I’ll decide...

Yes, Dewey, the Magnum comes with lights and costs $200 less. I’m test riding the Raleigh when it comes to my local shop next week. What are your thoughts on the mid-drive in the Raleigh vs. the rear hub in the Magnum? If I like the bikes equally, I will lean towards the Raleigh because the lbs...

Thanks, Dewey. I’ll decide after riding the Retroglide next week. I agree that 20 mph is plenty for me. The Magnum’s motor is 500 Watts vs the a Retroglide’s 500.

Chris, Thanks very much for your input, I eliminated the Pedego and will test ride a 2018 Raleigh Retroglide next week when it arrives at my local bike shop. If it’s not as good as the Magnum Cruiser that’s 100 miles away, I’ll get the Magnum. Compare the specs if you have time and see what...

Harry, Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and for your great advice. I just got off the phone with my local Velofix franchise owner. They will come to my home and do any maintenance and repairs on a Magnum. The only problem is they might not have a part and I'd have to wait one or two...

Rich, Thanks for your advice. I am not handy at all, but there is a good independent bike shop 15 miles from my home, and I recently used the mobile service Velofix for the Rad test ride and to fix something on my wife’s bike.

I am researching and test riding in advance of buying my first ebike. I am 64, 5’10, 190 lbs. I will use the bike for fun and local errands. There are no big hills where I live and won’t commute to work on it. The Magnum Cruiser has been my favorite. The only negative is the closest Magnum...

Hi Court. When do you think you will review the Pedego Conveyor that comes out in April? I enjoy the depth of your reviews. I’m trying to decide whether to wait to test ride the Conveyor, or get either the Pedego mid-Drive Commuter or Rad City now. Different bikes and different prices, I...
