Curious- how long are your typical rides? How hilly? I am down on the coast so not as hilly as inland CT---but I am amazed at how the Vado helps me speed up the hills that I do have. It's magic! :)

When I was deciding on color, and many others on here (you know who you are!!) :) were trying to convince me to go Crimson, I commented that I am an architect and that the Dove Gray/Black combo looked very Bauhaus.....hence 'Gropius'. :)

I only had time to do the 4 mile ride back home from the LBS but what I can say so far is WOW. This sucker is fast. It was in turbo mode when I left the dealer (I had lowered it but then the dealer changed from metric to imperial and I didn't noticed that it was in level 3 when I got back on). I...

I really wanted to use the Abus frame lock but I’m not at all confident in my ability to modify the connection. ;(

Maybe I’ll try the newer Ottolock Hexband. It’s a cinch but with stronger material.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple relative small and unobtrusive lock for the bike? I really only need to lock when I run into a store or coffee shop (hence liking the ‘cafe’ lock) and although no place is 100% safe, my locales are on the safer side of the range.

The Vado didn’t get here for the weekend and my LBS is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so hopefully I’ll hear tomorrow that it has arrived and they are prepping it for me!

Even though I thought that due to the economy they would extend the sale, I ordered right on the wire of 4/19 deadline to be safe. I was surprised that they didn't extend past the 19th. It may have something to do with inventory: when my LBS went to place my order, I think that there were fewer...

The Vado and Como 4.0’s are both Class 3. Regarding the saddle, you can always add the Cup (Como) saddle to the Vado if you find the Vado saddle uncomfortable. I think it’s only a $50US part.

Didn't hear from my LBS today so unsure if it arrived from Specialized yet. Will check in with them tomorrow AM when they open (although they tend to be crazy busy on Saturdays during C19!).
