Hi tech solution to a low tech issue.

I think it would be more distracting to be looking at the image on your handlebar mounted phone. I use a mirror like this. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

How was your 2017? Mileage? Significant events?

I live in sunny California and ride for pleasure all year, started riding E-Bikes when I picked up the XM 700+ in November 2016. Trek Super Commuter 105 Activities Since Jul 11, 2017 Default for Cycling 6,234.8 mi Total Distance Trek XM 700+ 143 Activities Since Nov 1, 2016 7,291.3 mi Total...

Is there a bike that lasts after extended use?

I only ride on the road and would not think either the XM or SC would be very good on anything but very tame fire roads. The extra weight of the SC is not noticeable when riding and the difference is 6 lbs. I find the suspension fork on the XM to not be very useful and I don't like the bounce of...

Is there a bike that lasts after extended use?

I ride strictly for pleasure with friends who are strong road bike riders. Picked up a Trek XM 700 in November 2016 and put 7400 miles on it by July 2017 when I purchased a Trek Super Commuter which has 3862 miles on it as of today. I have gone through 3 chains and 3 sets of brake pads plus I...

BULLS six50 e2 street, lacuba e45 and alternative..

I have an XM 700 which I purchased in November 2016 and put 7400 miles on it. The front shock is only good for small bumps as it will bottom out on anything significant and the front fender rattles a bit (I took it off) but you can pretty easily ride 30 to 50 miles on one charge of a 400wh...

    Upgrades to my XM700+

If you change the front chain ring from 18 to 20 your lowest gear is 20 x 36 and your highest gear is 20 x 11 it will be a little harder to climb the steepest hill and you will be able to go a little faster on a big downhill. It is equivalent to a 50 x 36 and 50 x 11 on a standard bike.

If you had $3K burning a whole in your pocket?

I put 7400 miles on my XM 700, great bike! Riding the Trek Super Commuter since July and love it!

How many miles have you travelled on the e-bike(s) that you currently own?

The XM is like a Mustang and the SC is like a Range Rover. Love the solid carbon fork and the large cushy tires, I can roll over anything and fly off of curbs.

How many miles have you travelled on the e-bike(s) that you currently own?

I have ridden 7300 miles on my Trek XM 700 purchased Nov 1 2016 and 2400 on my Trek Super Commuter purchased July 7 2017. All recreational and loving every minute!

I use a beam rack attached to my seatpost.

I also use the Bikespeed RS (which is awesome!) with my Bosch motor and picked up a 22 tooth front chain ring from Miranda which is equivalent to a 55. I don't get spun out, but there is one 16% climb on my route for about a block that is a bit challenging.

What kind of range do you get on one charge?

I can go 30 to 40 miles on a 400 wh battery and 40 to 50 on a 500 riding my Trek with a Bosch performance speed motor. This is a link to my typical ride. The pace is 18-25 mph with 2000 feet of climbing using mostly Tour mode. https://www.strava.com/activities/978787129 I carry an extra battery...

    Can't decide what to get

I ride a Trek XM 700+, 28 mph Bosch mid drive. I am 210 lbs and can get about 40 to 50 miles on a 500 wh battery riding 18-25 mph. I have two extra 400 wh batteries I can carry with me in my rear trunk bag if I need more range. Not an inexpensive solution but lets me do 60 to 70 mile rides at...

    Trek 2017 bikes

I installed this and it removes the governed speed limit, the motor will continue to assist in any mode as long as you can pedal. http://www.bikespeed.de/RS_en.html

    Trek 2017 bikes

I ride a Trek XM 700 with groups of fast recreational riders. The gearing is great for steep climbs and I can pedal at a pretty high cadence in my highest gear at 35 to 40 mph (my bike is tuned).
