Today my local Specialized dealer told me thru axles should be lightly greased on the threads to prevent seizing, and if some grease gets on the axle itself when inserting, no harm no foul. This applies to all thru axles, e-bike or otherwise.

I'll just blame the cat. Seriously though, I'll try the solvent idea on the rotors. I have about 180 miles on it so they should be more than bedded in.

Brake squeal is really bad on my Specialized Turbo. Anyone else encounter this? I guess I could switch to organic pads, but pretty sure I will wear those much faster with the weight and speed of this bike.

Oh and here is the rig with the massive trunk bag (rack time quick release) that replaced the backpack. It's dorky looking but awesome. Change of clothes, work iPad, repair stuff, etc...

Tried a new route today. Liked it better from a traffic standpoint - here is a track. I took a GoPro video too. If I can compress it from 42 min to 4 min I'll poster a link tonight. Not nearly as cool as Chris' or as rustic as Brambor's. :).

I thought about this a bit more and should reserve judgment. After all, my Turbo "only" has a 250 watt motor. Wonder if Trek is doing something similar.

Those look like some serious frames. As you pointed out, I think the cage protecting the battery is a cool feature. And the big coil over rear shock looks beefy, too.

The DOT limits Lithium Ion batteries to under 300 watt hours on flights. I don't know if this carries over to UPS and similar operations, but it may explain why they are shipped separately.
