    Bicyclist collides with a bear!

That is so wrong. You're an idiot and in a lot of places a criminal. I'll try to remember that next time i'm biking on an ice floe. TT

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

I might not yell at you, but if it were me wanting to cross the road I'd probably wait to see if you were going to stop before stepping out in front of you. Now, in a parking lot, where cars are doing <4 mph, I'd go ahead. Bottom line though, people in cars, on foot, or on bikes, aren't always...

More Rad lawsuit fallout? (good for the consumer)

Giving everyone hydraulic brakes at best just kicks the responsibility can down the road. Hydraulic brakes do need to be understood and will need maintenance at some point. And even if people didn't need to worry about brakes, there are dozens of other gotchyas, not all of which can be...

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

I remember the time before "right turn on red after stop (except in California . It was subject to the same kind of skepticism as this. This sounds like a good idea to me. If things go south the law could be repealed. Not that cops, at least around here, enforce anything anymore anyway, but...

    Show Us a Tool

Man, I'm tempted to get one of those! I bought a 120v model about 6 months ago, for more money, that I've used once so far. I'm a big fan of having tools I don't need, so I may have to get one of these anyway. TT

    New Old Girl

Welcome to the fourm. Looks like a great bike. It can be really hard to find the right saddle. You might try some place like REI where you know they'll let you return one if you don't like it. Either that or develop an iron butt. TT

I missed the Dick/Richard part! I don't know about anywhere else either, but Dick's is in Nashville.... TT

    Brakes

Well then, back to taking it to a bike shop or doing it himself. I would do it myself but I understand that some people wouldn't be comfortable with that, which is fine. This is simple service either way. TT

    Brakes

Good point about it being a new bike. Take it back to the dealer. It should be under warranty. Long-term, bleeding brakes is a routine job. Depending on your comfort level with simple mechanics, it is the kind of job that many people would do themselves. TT

    Brakes

So the front wheel was up in the air, above the back wheel? Okay, why? Sounds to me like the brakes need bleeding. Depending on you mechanical ability, this is a routine maintenance thing to deal with, but if you aren't comfortable with the job, it should be fairly cheap to have done by a...

    Brakes

I know very little about hydraulic brakes, so take this for what it's worth. Have you turned the bike over for any reason? Whether or not, it sounds like you might have air in the lines, in which case you need to bleed the brakes and top of the fluid. YouTube can help, or take to to your bike...

V Style Ramp for 1UP hitch rack

That's a good video. I've been doing that long before I saw the video though. The method works. No idea how much trouble the ramp would be, but from what others are saying, it seems worth skipping. TT

Bike shop charging fee to upgrade mission control?

There's no such thing as a free lunch. Whether you pay for an update in cash or not, you pay for it. Seems to me it mostly depends on what marketing spin you want to believe. That said, it's a little hard to believe there's not a DIY or automatic option for the updates. TT

Catalina Island, Avalon to Two Harbors

I keep thinking I'd like to go back to Catalina. It's been a long while. I got to meet Duke Fishman, aka the Duke of Catalina, aka Mr. Clean. TT

The world's longest bicycle tunnel - or maybe the second longest anyway :)

It is meant for pedestrians as well, with dedicated lanes. One would hope it won't be difficult for people to stay in their lane. It appears to be a beautiful, very worthy project that many other municipalities should consider. TT

possible list of owners location and their bikes?

Vincent has been around recently. Maybe not as often as in the past; without checking, within the past couple of weeks, that I know of. tt
