1 Year Review Specialized Vado 4 (3000 miles)

I've been fortunate enough to own the Specialized Vado 4 e-bike for over a year now, and I am thrilled to say that it has provided me with 3,000 trouble-free miles of riding pleasure. From its impressive 70 Nm of torque to its exceptional performance, this bike has exceeded my expectations in...

    Choose between Vado3 or 4, or Tero3.0

I concur....for the price point, the Vado 4 is really hard to beat.

Wow-Prices are down on E-Bikes on Specialized site!

Can never seem to find a Vado 5 online....period. Good sale though. Looks like Trek has a sale going too on their Allants.

    Choose between Vado3 or 4, or Tero3.0

I have a Vado 4 and love it. I have never taken it off road. I think the 70 nm on the 4 is a much better option than the 50 nm on the Tero 3. Just my two cents.

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

Very nice bike. I have a Vado 4 that I love. Can I ask you what type of rack you are running? It's not stock, correct? Thanks.

First Time Buyer with Decision Paralysis

I own a Specialized Vado 4 and a Trek Allant 8s currently, but have also owned 5 other ebikes to include Giant's offering. I love the Vado and Trek, but for the money, without any upgrades, my money would be on the Vado 4 for $4000.00 (US). I have not had one issue with the Trek or Specialized...

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

I have a raised bike stand that holds the bike, and elevates it slightly off the ground.... This works perfectly because it allows me to work on the bike without worrying about it tipping over. https://www.etrailer.com/Bike-Storage/Thule/THBSTK2.html? Hope this helps....

Range estimate Trek 8s when first powered on

On Saturday's and Sundays, I routinely ride 50 to 60 miles per day. All of my previous eBikes, and to include my current Specialized Vado 4 and Giant Fastroad, all deliver the expected ranges, based on battery capacity. This bike is the first NOT to deliver as expected, considering that it has...

Range estimate Trek 8s when first powered on

Thanks...the problem is, this NEVER happened with the 2021. It always showed 96 miles in estimated range in ECO. On one ride with the 2021 in all ECO, I arrived home after 66 miles, with 32% battery left. Even in Tour mode with the 2021, I could easily get 60 miles in that setting. On the...

Range estimate Trek 8s when first powered on

I have owned two Trek Allant 8s's.....2021 and now 2023. When I purchased the 2021 model, the instant I powered it on, it showed 96 miles in estimated range for the ECO setting. Fast forward to 2023, and my current Trek showed 47 miles in estimated range for the ECO setting. Over the last 500...

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 or Fx+2

I owned a Specialized Vado SL 4, which has the same motor as the SL 5. This was a great bike, but I wanted more power due to being a big guy, but this bike was still a blast to ride. The Vado SL 4 also gave me about 70 miles in all ECO mode on a full charge...not sure what the range is for the...

    Kiox 300 replaced Smartphone Hub - 2023 Trek 8s

Not sure, but they do look a little different. I would call the local Trek dealer and ask them if your specific bike is able to be updated. I know the retrofit kit came with the same controller that I have on the Trek 8s....so installation only involved about 10 or 15 minutes (mounting to the...

    Kiox 300 replaced Smartphone Hub - 2023 Trek 8s

Yes sir, its the Kiox – Bosch eBike System 2. Apparently there are two versions of the Kiox.....one for the Smart System, and the other for the System 2 ebikes. I am just very happy the Smartphone Hub and the Cobi app are gone......I did not like that setup.

    Quietest motor?

In my personal experience ranked quietest to loudest: 1. Brose/Specialized Vado 4 2. Yamaha/Giant Fastroad Ex Pro 3. Brose/Specialized Vado SL 4 4. Bosch/Trek Allant 8s Hope that helps....

    Kiox 300 replaced Smartphone Hub - 2023 Trek 8s

The Bosch Kiox 300 is a game-changer for e-bikers, offering numerous benefits over the traditional Smartphone hub. Unlike the latter, which requires you to use your own phone, the Kiox 300 is a standalone device that doesn't drain your phone's battery or clutter up your handlebars with an...

What bags for a 2023 Explore?

How are you enjoying the bike so far, and how does the new Sport2 motor with the 75nm feel? I currently have a Giant Fastroad Ex Pro, but with the 500 watt battery, and having the 625watt would alleviate some of the range anxiety I have on rides longer than 50 miles. Thanks.

Turbo Vado 4.0 questions: range and reliability

My ECO setting is at default on my Vado 4, and I weigh a little north of 250lbs, yet I consistently get 50-55 miles on a ride, arriving home with 27-34% battery left. I usually average between 80-85rpm's per ride....that's the target. My setting for Sport mode is 100/40....and I easily get 40...

Turbo Vado 4.0 questions: range and reliability

Just had the LBS upgrade the firmware on the Vado 4 from the November 2022 release. In addition, they checked the chain, cassette, brakes, etc...and found zero issues. This bike has roughly 2500 miles on it, with the same Super Moto X tires that replaced the stock tires on day one of...
