I use my ipad timer to time how long the charger is running on my 36 volt battery. Then I have a reminder of when to stop charging to hit the 80% soc. I check the battery voltage before I start the charging to estimate how long to charge. I write down the times for various soc starting...
I installed my ebike.kit this past January.
My geared 36 volt 500 watt motor does everything I want. It seems to be a perfect match for my speed and hill assist with my recumbent bike. I have had my Lightning P38 for 20 years and 17,500 miles of fun.
When I climb a long hill, I keep the pas...
With the key in, and turned on, could you wrap a piece of velcro around the battery, and wedge the key/lock unit into the battery? I had a battery rattle that I fixed that way.
I don’t have your brand bike, but I upgraded my recumbent road bike to e assist by installing a 500 watt rear motor/wheel kit. I use clip in shoes.
On my e bike the choice for assist is pas levels of 1 - 5. I usually run in pas 2 or 3. And i usually run my front derailer in the middle...
About 20 years ago I had 30 bikes in my garage and basement in Iowa. I had about 5 Schwinns with the one piece cranks, and I overhauled them during the winters. I had a dozen LeTours, and did some customizing to them too. So I know my way around a Schwinn bike!
So, one day I am putting a...
Get a volt meter and you can get an exact readout. it is your fuel gauge!
I have a 36 volt li-on battery system. At full charge the volts read 42. At 0 charge the volts read 30. So at the end of a ride, if I have 36 volts, I know the battery is 50% charged. If I have 39 volts the...
I take Guv Wolf to mean biking is ok, as it is outdoor exercise, like walking on a trail. I ride the streets to get to the trail. Trails aren't too crowded, so able to maintain social distancing.
My 66 year old bladder needs relief every hour....trails are the best, as the trees are always in need of watering. In town, is more of a problem, but there are some gas stations on my route.
So, overall, no impact on my riding distances.
I check my battery voltage after my ride and based on that, I charge the battery for the time needed to bring the battery to 80% charged.
I use my ipad timer to remind me to unplug the charger, or to check the battery voltage progress. Usually I charge for an hour, and then check the voltage...
everything is working as it should....I pulled a hill on pas 4 and the battery indicator started to drop down. You can really suck the juice out going up hill on a high pas number.
After the ride, the battery is sitting at 38 volts, so it must be at about a 60% charge level.
I now have 30 miles on my kit. This kit is a 36 volt, 500 watt motor, and 10 amp hr battery. Rear wheel motor and rack mounted battery. The bike is a Lightning P38 bent.
I must say, I am very happy with this kit and the amount of power. I live 5 miles from Scranton, and wanted to be able...
What amp battery did you get? What watt motor? I have a terratrike I might add a kit to.
I look at the pas level as my second transmission. I don’t mind playing around with the pas level. I drove a semi for a bit after I retired. Drove an 18 speed transmission.
I don’t use the...
