    Fixing a Flat

personal preference. I prefer the fat tires for my commute, 35 years of motorcycle riding and I feel more secure in traffic on a fat bike when doing 30+ mph. on my weekend rides which are 99% on bike paths and trails, the bike I use has 700c x 38c

Rambo hunting e bike as a road bike?

These tires are great, I swapped them on all 4 of my fat tire bikes as all we do is street/bike path riding. I will note however that the prices swing wildly on these. I bought 4-sets (8 tires) at $44 for each tire back in Feb. went to get another set a few weeks ago for my tandem...

RadPower? (mine's spent more time waiting to be maintained than in use)

Yeah that sucks. I use Apple Maps in bike mode to route me on mostly bike only paths. Been lucky, It I get the flats as well. First one I had no tools and no spare, had to sit on the side of the road for 2 hours waiting for my wife to bring me a spare tube and all the tools needed...

Rear Topeak cargo rack pack. Adds about 4lbs with the tools and tube, but I carry 30lbs of work crap anyway.

RadPower? (mine's spent more time waiting to be maintained than in use)

100% agree. I carry a spare tube, pump, patches, and the tools needed as I have had 4 flats in the past year. 30 minutes or less on the side of the road to patch or replace the tube and continue with my day. No different than popping a spare onto a car when you get a flat.

RadPower? (mine's spent more time waiting to be maintained than in use)

I have a Rad Power (Rad Mission) I bought for my daughter for Christmas last year. 1,900 miles on it now and the only issue was a flat 2 weeks ago with a nail about 2 inches long. Replaced the tube and kept going. FWIW however, I maintain my own bikes and do general maintenance on them...

mid drives are not for everyone/throttles are fine

I commute on my e-bike. i want a throttle for this reason. on 2 different occasions I have had an issue that would have left me and a mid-drive with no throttle stuck. first was a broken chain. 8 miles from home, wife wasn't available, if not for the throttle I would have had to...

Is anyone trying to solve charging on the road?

it would be interesting if these places that have electric car chargers could add an outlet for e-bikes, there are no standards for e-bike chargers everyone one seems to have a different connector, so one would need to have their own charger and just be able to plug into a 110v or 220v...

Got Called a "Cheater" by Another Cyclist

I'm curious what or who exactly one in "cheating" by riding an e-bike? if you aren't in a race or other competition, who is getting cheated? seems some people have their common sense in their ass.

How Much Cardio Can You Get From Electric Bikes?

not sure why it would matter if the app knows you are on an e-bike or not, the calories burned on the apple watch are determined by heart rate over a duration of time, it doesn't care if you are on an ebike or a regular bike, if you are throttle only at 25mph and your HR is 70bpm, it is...

How Much Cardio Can You Get From Electric Bikes?

The Apple watch has been proven to be one of the most accurate devices for calorie and heart rate tracking. but it all depends on if you have the health app data accurate. your current, height, weight, birthdate, etc. all need to be accurate in the app to be sure the apple is properly...

My name Is the Rickster two wheels is a passion also my lifestyle.

depends on what he uses it for, appears to me he enjoys camping and hunting, as such it is a nice rig for that. better on a e-bike than a dirt bike or ATV.

Does it exist..??? A fat-tire bike (generally for sandy, or snowy roads) with the power of a serious e-MTB (apt for steep hills, off-roads) ..??

i dunno man, I have 3 fat tire bikes hub drive with 750watt bafang motors, 7,000+ miles on the Cyrusher, 1,800 on my tandem and nearing 1,000 on my bikonit, no issues with them so far except chain wear and 4 punctured tubes from road debris. 50 miles a day on the Cyrusher for almost a year...
