What shoes do you ride with?

Jesus! That sucks and I feel for you. I have had 3 'slow motion falls', more like 'fall over' with them - years ago - so now I only use them for when I'm riding open highways putting in mile after mile - I may be down to just one of my bikes in my fleet soon with the clips, the rest like you are...

Haha - just realized that your chosen handle can shorten to 'OP' - which is also the common term used in online forums like this for the person who started the thread we are posting within (commonly known as short form for 'Operator' and they initiated the thread so they have that title given)...

I read most the threads and believe I have seen everywhere you posted - other than making a bunch of laugh so hard our coffee comes out our noses and a few might have blushed a little - you're all fixed up and doing fine. Cheers bud

What shoes do you ride with?

You're going to love the 5 10's. I have a pair for all the reasons Stefan detailed for my bikes with flat pedals. I also have the 5 10's Pro Boa with clips for when I ride clipped in (road only now) and they are awesome for a clipped style shoe...

Any experience with EV charging network for eBikes, like evgo.com?

You have shared a ton of insight and calculations here. I'm humbled and appreciate all you have shared. My approach as I have already shared, since I'm heavy to begin with (the rider) and my bikes start out heavy (current bike is 50+ lbs of just bike before batteries, fluids, food and well - me...

Any experience with EV charging network for eBikes, like evgo.com?

You nailed it. A little more details to share. I do own a Grin Satiator 5 Amp/High Voltage unit. I wanted something that could charge all the way up to 72/84V (I believe it can go as high as 100V) and be my one 'do anything' charger for myself, for friends and my plans to possible build bikes...

I need a easy way to get my heart rate on my many rides.

Hello fooferdoggie, Last year I went through the challenges you face and feel your pain. I had a gen 1 or 2 apple watch that just didn't last or work for me. Finally retired it and got back into a beautiful regular watch and looked to other options for when I walk/cycle/train/etc. Note...

Tried another new route in my area today...I have hundreds, maybe thousands of kms worth of farmland area to ride in - right out of my driveway. Will need to mount my 4K GoPro on my new bike to capture pics and videos to share and see how I make out when I do. Anyways, 32C and windy today -...

Are eBike Chargers "Smart"...Mine Apparently Isn't

Does your battery have a BMS controller? Many do and it regulates the charging process, cuts off the charger (stops drawing in charge) when it reaches full. What you will see in choices you have for chargers are smart models that can stop at 'less than 100%' of the battery. A battery's built in...

BikeMike: Seeing now your other thread for the 100 Mile Challenge under 4.5 hours is really impressive. I only hope my post above might help a little here and there with real life perspective of someone going long distance as well. Good luck!

who says you don't get a workout?

Remember the motor will only reduce your heart rate as much as you allow it. ;-) If you keep the assist on the lowest level while riding flats and such and then add a little extra when climbing hills, you will reach the same heart rates as your acoustic bike by simply going a little faster -...

    Need help with drivetrain selection...

Hey there cruzer, welcome to EBR. Just some thoughts to help you with what you are seeking. For quick reference I'm 6'0, 270#, early 40's and have a small fleet of ebikes to compare to for you. -95% of what you are looking for works perfectly with a bike having 50-60mm (1.9" to 2.35") tires...

Hello Mike, I will try to help you at least a little bit with some of the questions you have here from what I have learned and real world experience. In no particular order: -I come from the world of conversion bikes, not OEM builds and continue to work with these manufacturers/resellers of...

Thanks for sharing friend. Your post reminded me of driving a rental car around San Francisco 12 years ago (fall thankfully, not winter) and how crazy those grades could get. You have yourself there quite the hill for anyone to climb, ebike or acoustic.
